Publisher's summary

Mile 81 meets "N." in this collaboration between Stephen King and Joe Hill.

As USA Today said of Stephen King's Mile 81: "Park and scream. Could there be any better place to set a horror story than an abandoned rest stop?" In the Tall Grass begins with a sister and brother who pull off to the side of the road after hearing a young boy crying for help from beyond the tall grass. Within minutes they are disoriented, in deeper than seems possible, and they've lost one another. The boy's cries are more and more desperate. What follows is a terrifying, entertaining, and masterfully told tale, as only Stephen King and Joe Hill can deliver.

Enjoyed

If you enjoy King, this is a must.
I made the mistake of listening to it one day while I wasn’t focused and ended up completely lost. So, I listened again. Ahhhhh ........ that’s better.
If you watched the movie first, expect a lot of difference.

Expected more from this collaboration

The story is awesome. it grabs you when it starts and holds you. just as the book begins it's build it ends. Fantastic story but it ends as the story begins. I would have expected more from these two powerhouse horror authors. they could have easily produced an incredible novel with this start to a story.

Would you try another book from Stephen King and Joe Hill and/or Stephen Lang?

yes, a good combination from both imaginations

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

it was creepy little story

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

good narration

Could you see In the Tall Grass being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

ooh, no movie!

Any additional comments?

If you watch the Walking Dead, you can listen to this creeply little story.

Creepy but Good story

Where does In the Tall Grass rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I love ALL Stephen King Novels...Cant rank them, they are all GOOD

What other book might you compare In the Tall Grass to and why?

Horns by Joe Hill. Both stories involve something 'weird' happening in the middle of innocent looking fields/woods that no one would believe could happen

What does Stephen Lang bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

King has a way of making the ordinary.... extraordinary

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

On Mile 81...Keep the windows up and the radio on

Another "maybe" by Stephen King

Great narrating But, the story felt hollow In need of "fleshing" out so to speak

Subjective rejection

Stephen Lang is a superb reader. The story itself is well written and well paced. But this kind of story- I won’t spoil things- just doesn’t work for me.

the merger of two great writers

This has the wonderful character development of Joe Hill and the gruesome gore of the early Steven King. Definitely not something to consume before a driving trip across the Midwest with all her open fields. The only complaint is the pacing, it seems to big down at points. I would highly recommend this to any fan of King and/or his equally talented son Joe Hill.

Good story but very short

I didn’t know this was a short story. It was good but I wouldn’t have wasted a credit on it
