Story
After the majority of his body is destroyed during a high-risk operation, Aiden Thorn is subjected to an experimental, potentially lifesaving procedure… one he never tacitly agreed to undergo. With no choice but to see the unorthodox new process through, he accepts his fate and works to adapt to his new life. But when an intergalactic corporation steps in and essentially claims ownership of Aiden and everyone like him, he is forced to do the two things he does best… survive, and fight.

In an effort to save his buddy and the starship from the aliens, Mitch does the obvious thing: he accidentally warps hundreds of light-years away. This story had some much potential but I could only make it into chapter 6. Mitch is a moron! I don't thinking the writer could make him any dumber if he tried!

Story
The colony on Haven-7 has gone rogue. The colonists have split into two factions: the Techborn and the Dusters. The Techborn have always ruled the planet. They control the remnants of the crashed starship that brought humanity to this new world. The Dusters… they eat Techborn dust. Now, the Techborn strength is waning. Their weapons are getting old, and radiation leaks from the aging reactors have created mutations. Some of these, like their brutish troops known as Tuskers, have proven useful—but others are abominations.

Never disliked a character this much
Reviewed: 09-29-24
If the authors intent was to make me dislike the main character he succeeded. Halfway through chapter 5 and I'm hoping Po gets blown out an airlock. In books and real life I have always hated people the blame others for their problems and cry about their tough life. Po needs to stop his crying like a girl and be a man.

Has potential maybe, but can't stand anymore 4 now
Reviewed: 09-04-24
First contact stories are among my favorites. But after 5 chapters I can't stand listening to it for one reason, I HATE characters that appoint themselves as the only person that decides humanity fate. Alex Holder by chapter 5 basically makes himself ruler of our solar system. If I find myself with nothing to listen too I might give this another try...

McGill's character NEEDS to evolve!
Reviewed: 07-12-24
I love this series however, here is the giant BUT! There is just no way in hell that ANYONE that knows McGill would believe his I'm a dumb ass routine. Sure it would work on people that didn't know him, but people that have been with him for decades now would not fall for it over and over again. I hope and want the series to continue but Larson has to evolve McGill's character.
This is the only reason I'm not rating this 5 stars.
