About this listen

The Galaxy is ruled by a single Empire—but the Imperial throne is empty.

The machine races demand a turn at the job, but the organics refuse to allow it. For more than a century, the Galactics have battled for supreme power. War and instability reign in place of peace, with every species spread over a hundred billion stars suffering as the Empire decays.

James McGill discovers a scheme is underway. A new power is rising, determined to snatch the Throne from all the rest. Will this unite the Galactic Empire, or destroy it utterly?

Find out in Throne World, the thrilling twenty-first book of the Undying Mercenaries series. With millions of copies sold, USA Today bestselling author B. V. Larson is the king of modern military science fiction.

Cliffhanger ending was disappointing

I enjoy this series. Prior to
Throne World every book had a distinct ending. This book did not have an ending. The latest adventures were not wrapped up. Had I known, I would have waited for the sequel and read both back to back …I am impatient.

The story, characters and great narration were entertaining. I prefer the previous adventures with a solid conclusion and some foreshadowing.

I really can't get enough of the charming and whacky antics of old James McGill

Very good and well thought out plot.

Two story lines in one. Good to see good ole McGill come out on top and mostly the hero in this volume. Another home run for the author and narrator. Well done!

Another Great Volume

This was a very entertaining story. I can't wait to hear how things turn out with Drusis.

Another great installation

Love this series. Really enjoy ol’ James McGill. Mark Boyett is an absolute legend of a voice actor. Incredibly recreates regional accents. South East Georgia of McGill, Texas of Leeson, Eastern European of Galina Turov, gravely Midwestern of Graves, wow. Even when the stories became a bit predictable, Mr. Boyett’s voice acting made every single one enjoyable and entertaining. Highly recommended.

Still most fun ongoing series

This book series is proof to me that you can follow the same general outline, but tell interesting and evolving stories. If you like the rest of the series, you'll enjoy this book.

Narration is great

After all the novels in this series, the author still spins an entertaining story…enjoyed it.

you're 20 books in, you know what you're getting

very consistent addition to the series. if you're expecting some big huge change to the story line, this isn't the book. if you're looking for another fun and entertaining installment in the James McGill saga, then you won't won't disappointed. out of the hundreds of scifi books I've listened to on audible, the undying mercenaries series is far and above my favorite, I'm pausing whatever current book I'm listening to whenever a new undying mercenaries book comes out

McGill's character NEEDS to evolve!

I love this series however, here is the giant BUT! There is just no way in hell that ANYONE that knows McGill would believe his I'm a dumb ass routine. Sure it would work on people that didn't know him, but people that have been with him for decades now would not fall for it over and over again. I hope and want the series to continue but Larson has to evolve McGill's character.

This is the only reason I'm not rating this 5 stars.

Most creative in awhile

This one is great. It feels very...current, given current events. There are some weird issues with the audio that should've been caught in editing that weren't fixed, but only one of them is actually a problem. Pretty good, overall. Larson's still got it.
