Made it two chapters in.. full of pitiful world building, no character building, and poor voice acting. If you hate police, and like to listen to bad voice acting bash them... You may enjoy this. I regret this purchase and will be attempting to refund. 🤢

Narrator got bad instructions or is bad at voice acting. Everything in, every, single, line, should, not, be emphasized. Who actually screams into a microphone? .... Yikes. Can't even comment on the story the over acted narration ruined it.

Sen never dreamed of ascension. Such were the aspirations of the rich young nobles, not orphans like him, scraping together a meager living on the streets of Orchard’s Reach. However, when destiny takes an unexpected turn, Sen finds himself thrust into the role of a cultivator’s disciple. Chosen over the nobles who once looked down on him, he is adopted into a makeshift family of three ancient cultivators, each with a lifetime of knowledge and insights. These old monsters will teach Sen everything they can, from the art of the jian and spear to the mysteries of arcane alchemy.

Story
Life’s tough when you’re trapped in an eight-year-old body on another world. His name is Eight. Not really, but that’s what the System decided after a slip of the tongue. One moment, he was stepping out the office door on the way home, and the next waking up on a hillside below a town wall. Oh, and the gate guard drove him off, because he thought Eight was a monster. What’s a boy to do in a world full of magic and so many, many hungry creatures searching for their next meal? Well, there’s an old man inside that body, and he'll use everything he’s learned to survive.

A majority of what I was able to get through was long winded monologs on feelings.. gets old.
Mc is apparently a 64 year old adult and incapable of controlling his emotions.
Narrator gives the character the /sigh feel which I don't think helps.
I'm guessing the glowing reviews are paid.

Author thinks comparing sex to 9/11 is ok but makes a comment on woke liberal ideals and spends entire scenes making sure they didn't offend the reader.. just yikes.
