Writer Ben Mears has returned to his hometown of Jerusalem's Lot with the hope that moving into a delapidated mansion, long the subject of town lore, might help him get a handle on his life and provide inspiration for a new book. Classic

I’m just old enough to appreciate the quality of storytelling but also young enough to not be as scared as I ought to be. Movies and tv have reduced my once rigid fear response to an observable phenomena, which doesn’t quite pass the smell test for terror. That said, the luscious quality of the story still had me fully engaged throughout the read. Great storytelling

Story
In a feat of virtuoso storytelling, Anne Rice unleashes Akasha, the queen of the damned, who has risen from a six-thousand-year sleep to let loose the powers of the night. Akasha has a marvelously devious plan to “save” mankind and destroy the vampire Lestat—in this extraordinarily sensual novel of the complex, erotic, electrifying world of the undead.

Story
The sand-blasted world of Arrakis has become green, watered, and fertile. Old Paul Atreides, who led the desert Fremen to political and religious domination of the galaxy, is gone. But for the children of Dune, the very blossoming of their land contains the seeds of its own destruction. The altered climate is destroying the giant sandworms, and this in turn is disastrous for the planet's economy.

In our shallow callous world it is immeasurably pleasing to be mesmerized by such a richly woven tapestry of mythical, religious and political fiction.

A dark and sweeping adventure, Dreamcatcher is set in the haunted city of Derry - the site of Stephen King's It and Insomnia. In it, four young boys stand together and do a brave, good thing, an act that changes them in ways that they hardly understand. A quarter-century later, as grown men who have gone their separate ways, these friends come together once a year to hunt in the woods of Maine.

My first book review ever…my Goodness
Reviewed: 04-16-22
I’ve never been a book enthusiast, but the type of work I do now lends itself to hours of free time. I watched the show “The Expanse” and couldn’t get enough, so I purchased an audible subscription with my wife. I’m a 48 year old Marine Veteran, I’ve seen some things, been some places. I never imagined a person could write a story that captured the humanity of our existence so well. I fell in love with all of these characters, hated some then grew to respect them. I’ve read all previous books in this series, as would make sense but this one was the first one that brought me to tears. I had no idea I could be so vested In fictitious persons. Mr. Corey’s ability to create is mind blowing, the visceral reality of humanity’s personage in our universe is made manifest in these books. I am a believer in imagination again, but most importantly I have been reminded how infinitely large each human being is and how awesomely that is reflected by the “expanse” that is our universe. Thank you
