The story line is engaging. The swearing is off putting. I am ok with being one who wants to listen to a good story but doesn't want the swearing. After all with that I cannot share my books with my kids.

This is a good story and the voice actor does a great presentation, however, this is ruined by pervasive swearing throughout the story. I like to listen to books that I can share with my kids. This is one that does not make the cut.

Take out the sex, sexual overtone, and homosexual situations.

What could Robin Hobb have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Stick to telling the story without sex.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Anne Flosnik?

Anne Flosnik is a great narrator.

If there was an actual story

Has Gray Mountain turned you off from other books in this genre?

From John Grisham it has....this sounded more like a journal entry and then it just stopped

What didn’t you like about Catherine Taber’s performance?

Her performance was fine

What character would you cut from Gray Mountain?

I would actually like all the characters if there was an actual story

Any additional comments?

This book meandered alone and never really got anywhere....then after 14 h just when I thought the story would begin it was over.

If you could sum up Into the Storm in three words, what would they be?

Crazy, Epic, endearing....I want more and from the looks of things I will!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Capt Reddy...never give up...I like those who face adversity and just keep going forward. This tale includes many who are faced with the unthinkable and they follow the unwavering direction of the Captain and he does not let it go to his head!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The best SYFY movie idea of the century!!

What about Tim Gerard Reynolds’s performance did you like?

There are some voice actors who do a good job, there are some who do a great job and then there are the few who do the best job. Gerard is one of those voice actor's who I actually search for before I do the author. I want to see what he has recorded and often buy based on that!

What made the experience of listening to Firestorm the most enjoyable?

The author is consistent with allowing an equal measure of success by the allies but random acts of defeat by the evil empires they fight. Mixed in is a creative use of US Military might circa 1950. The story if fun almost seems real at times!!

If you’ve listened to books by Taylor Anderson before, how does this one compare?

This was book 6 in the series...I have listened to them all! And will listen to the remaining ones to see if the epic battle will end all conflict. At times I want to see it made into a movie or tv series and then I would rather the imagery to stay with the book.

What about William Dufris’s performance did you like?

I love this audio actor. Different voices, lots of expression...you can almost see the facial expression of the characters as he reads their parts.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

no laugh no cry but I think I may have done a fist pump or two after successful campaigns

didn't read the print version

Who was your favorite character and why?

There were too many to ignore so it is hard to pick one that stands out. I do wish that Lady Maude played a bigger role during the German occupation.

What does John Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

it is fun to hear his interpretation of the various characters especially the American service men.
