Story
The last thing necromancer Damian Vesik expects to face is a clan of panicky garden gnomes. But his sister, Sam, gave her word to protect them, and breaking her word to the Fae would be disastrous. With help from Calbach, the iron-touched Fae, they seek what is stalking the garden gnomes. Reality proves far worse than they imagined, landing Damian and his friends on the wrong side of the Iron Queen's most-feared assassin.

Awesome Story!!
Reviewed: 10-03-23
Eric did a marvelous job of putting pen to this story! Not as insidious as a lot of the other Vesik books, but very good in it's own right!
I'm not yet sure how much I like Baldree. It's very difficult to stop comparing him to William Dufry. His voices aren't bad at all, just not quite at the standard we became used.
I still very much recommend getting the audio and enjoying the story!

Story
Just when we thought the threats we were facing might finally be gone, a magical attack forces us to realize we couldn’t be more wrong. As if the supposed “Pureblood” witches would stop trying to take down magical mutts like us. Among them these days is our old friend, Zachary, and if he’s behind the attack he’s right in thinking we haven’t forgotten how he betrayed us. Which may be why he decided to strike first. Like they say, there’s no animal more dangerous than one who fears itself cornered.

The author has once again delivered with a wonderful story with characters that have been expertly developed and contigo show more and more heroic spirit and backbone!
Amy does a fantastic job with the characters and dialogue, but something seems a bit off with the narrative. It seemed like Alexa was reading it in Amy's voice. Not bad, but timings and inflection.
Still a great listen that I very much recommend.

It isn’t long before the man turns up. Except he’s…different. And he’s not the only one. A new magical affliction is creeping through the world, permanently altering people’s auras and changing their astral forms. As Alastair Stone and his friends struggle to understand it and trace its source, he soon finds he’s got another, far more personal, issue to deal with.

Story
One chance. That's all I’ll have. Along with a choice I can't possibly make. In just a few weeks, I’ve gone from living in a psychiatric hospital, to learning I have magic, to joining a secret society of witches. I've also had to come to terms with both what I am and where I came from. Half demon, half witch, born in the demon real - a magical mutation created for sacrificial purposes. It's so nice knowing that the woman who raised me only did so because she was planning to spill my blood on her sacrificial altar. So, yeah. No wonder I went crazy.
