Good beginning for a new series!

I really enjoyed listening/reading this book. I love the various personalities of the characters. With being the first book in the series there definitely was a bit of world building however, it wasn't boring and the author wrote in a way that drew you in as a reader and made you just want to read more and more. It was very difficult to put the book down when it was time to "adult". I really can't wait to see what happens in the next book! I felt that the narrator didn't excellent job and I'm going to start the next book right away!

This story was to read/listen to. It is basically your typical highlander story where the female somehow travels back in time, has conflicts but falls in love, and after several things happen the Laird and the female end up with their special HEA. I don't like to say the exact specifics for the story, however, it was very well written and I enjoyed it. I also felt the narrator did a good job.

Story
The area surrounding Cashiers, North Carolina, is home to people of all kinds, but the world that Jacob McNeely lives in is crueler than most. His father runs a methodically organized meth ring, with local authorities on the dime to turn a blind eye to his dealings. Having dropped out of high school and cut himself off from his peers, Jacob has been working for this father for years, all on the promise that his payday will come eventually.

This book was recommended by a friend. It's my first time listening/reading anything by this author. I absolutely loved it! I normally can figure out where the storyline is taking the readers and honestly this time I really didn't catch the plot twists. I felt the narrator did an amazing job, the characters were so well written, and I plan to look into more books by this author!

Story
What’s the actual last thing you’d ever want your celebrity crush to see you doing when you finally come face-to-excruciatingly-handsome-face with him? Singing and dancing around by yourself to “Dreams” by The Cranberries while drinking straight from a bottle of champagne? While you’re wearing some wedding gown you just found in a closet? Yeah. Me too. And yet, here we are. At a mountain cabin I was sent to by the awfully pretty actress/pretty awful human I work for to get things ready for her romantic New Year’s Eve getaway with him.

Story
Halloween: it’s a holiday where people shed their boring everyday personalities and become fantastic beings ready for an epic party. Well, guess what? That’s Billy Boston 24/7, 365, baby! It’s who I was before I became a millionaire and it’s who I’ll always be. My beautiful next door neighbor, Donna, is a hardworking nurse who takes her job seriously and her fun even more so. All she wants is a no-strings arrangement and that’s fine by me.

I really enjoyed reading and listening to this story! This entire series is fun and the books can be read as standalone books but it's much better to read them as part of the series so you understand about the other characters in the books. I loved this book because you get to find out how things are going with couples from the previous books. I can't wait to read/listen to the next book in the series. I also absolutely love both of the narrators, they do an amazing job bringing the characters to life! Fabulous fabulous series!

Story
You might think the problem would be waking up in Vegas, hungover, next to a beautiful woman who’s wearing your boxer briefs, and finding out you married her. But you’d be wrong. I, Nolan Cassidy, international charmer, and maker of mischief have fallen head over heels for Cora Delaney. I want to be married to the lass. So, you might think the problem would be that she wants an annulment. But, again, you’d be wrong. None of that is the problem. I’m a problem. My boxing days may be behind me, but the fight never left me. And nothing is going to stand in my way.

I loved listening to the audible book, the narrators didn't excellent job with the characters. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book and the series! I am going to listen to/read the next book in this series! I always like to buy the ebook with the audiobook so I can go between reading and listening.

Very interesting story

I definitely enjoyed listening to this book. I've always loved listening to Barbra Streisand's songs and watching her movies (I think I picked that up from my Mom & Uncle & Grandma). I think listening to her read/tell her story was very fascinating. Yes, it is very long, I did read some of the reviews prior to listening to/reading the book and they complained about the book being too long, however, although it was long I feel it was appropriate for what needed to be said. I did listen to the story and followed along on the ebook when I could & that helped me keep focused (I do that a lot). Although, I do have to admit I didn't just sit down and listen to this book only, I did throw in a romcom while listening to this just to break it up a little and I think that's why I was able to appreciate this story more. I truly loved this book!! I feel like I have a greater understanding and even stronger admiration/respect for her as an artist and person. I feel like I almost know her, even though I really don't know her personally. In my opinion the book is good, not my typical genre BUT worth every second of my time listening & reading it!! I will probably purchase it for my Mom to read/listen to also!

OK, this book is just beyond words to describe it, I'm just thinking WOW!
First, definitely pay attention to the trigger warnings because they are most definitely present in the book.
Now, if you're not worried about the trigger warnings this book is really well written. I purchased the ebook and audiobook and mainly listened to the audible book and I am speechless. The growth and emotional depth that Joe Arden gave to his character Malachi was all consuming and I felt everything Malachi was going through. And Heather Firth brought Olivia alive as well. Both narrators brought the characters to life and I felt like I was living through everything that was happening in the story. Phew, that was one heck of a story too!! I plan to get the next book and I hope it is written and developed as well OR even better than this story. I'm excited to see where the author takes these characters next.
