While the Ultramarines and Bobby G aren't my favorite chapter, it still was an entertaining and cool story. The Death Guard scenes are really cool and the detail is always interesting. I just found it laughable that the final assault happened the way it did. but hey, Space Marines disregarding obvious tactical errors.

I wasn't sure about getting the first book in the series just because I didn't know if it was boring and actually it makes me want to take on the whole series. Dan Abnett does a great job and it's hard not to love every character except Erebus.

I honestly never use to care for the traitor legion side of the universe, always feeling like they were just typical bad guys but after starting the Night Lords trilogy, I was wrong. Aaron DB did fantastic giving the characters such depth and I'm on Blood Reaver right now which is the 2nd book. Night Lords definitely became my favorite Chaos faction after this.
