The first of the Caiaphas Cain stories set the tone for all of them going forward. I have loved the series since a friend gave me the omnibus of the first three novels. Glad to see them getting the audiobook treatment. I do prefer the voice work in the Caiaphas Cain short stories that were produced earlier (Dead in the Water & The Devil You Know), but this was still a fun listen. Looking forward to future releases.

Fun, sardonic stories in the 40k Universe

probably one of my favorite wh40k stories. the narrators did a fantastic job. just wish we could come up with an official way to pronounce some words.

In my opinion, when Black Library first started making audio books, this should have been the first. This book personifies almost every aspect of 40k, Satire turned up to 11! Showcasing the motto of the 40k universe "Because why not?"

The best of 40K

Like 40k? Dig the Emperor of Mankind? Well look elsewhere because this is just a man trying to survive and get stupendously lucky with his military career while running right into danger while trying to avoid it.

A charming and comical take on grim dark.

From the first conflict to the last; each chapter had me either laughing, reeling, or hungry for more. Bringing the smallest character development full circle where in I was happy to had learned about these characters earlier in the book. Cain as the protagonist is a relatable and likable person with his admitted flaws and luck. With him at the forefront of the story it never feels like it drags on or that it is outside the realm of reality in the terms or warhammer. If you enjoyed Gaunt's Ghosts then you would enjoy Cain.

Great story, superb narration.

This Flawed, Cowardly hero is just what 40k needs, I'm looking forward to listening to the rest of the series. I absolutely loved it.

Refreshing
