It is difficult to write short stories I have concluded. Both from my personal experience as well as from the reading of other authors work. Thus, when finding stories that are short and enjoyable; it's a hit!

Story
A dark, compelling new thriller from best-selling authors Sarah A. Denzil and Anni Taylor. Young backpackers Gemma and Hayley arrive at a remote fruit farm in Australia’s Northern Territory, out of money and desperate for work. The weeks go on, a blur of fruit picking, parties, campfires and wading beneath waterfalls in the nearby hot springs. Until the night the girls find themselves on a dark highway, bruised and bloodied. Senior Detective Bronwen McKay and psychologist Megan Arlotti question the terrified girls.

There's nothing negative to say about this book. The story was engaging and at times I was holding my breath in anticipation of what would be around the next corner. The only issue I had was at times it seemed a great lot of characters resulting in a bit of confusion of whom was saying what. That was rarely, however, so I can scarcely complain! Highly recommended!

Story
Micheline Helsing is a tetrachromat - a girl who sees the auras of the undead in a prismatic spectrum. As one of the last descendants of the Van Helsing lineage, she has trained since childhood to destroy monsters both corporeal and spiritual. The corporeal undead go down by the bullet, the spiritual undead by the lens. With an analog SLR camera as her best weapon, Micheline exorcises ghosts by capturing their spiritual energy on film.

I truly enjoyed every minute of this book! I wish I could have had a sequel to look forward to! The narrator was believable as a young female and managing to incorporate the tale of Dracula into the story was a delight! And of course, Van Helsing was wonderful as well. This has been one of my favourite Audible Books thus far so I feel like I have a duty to let others know that this is not one to pass up!

Story
The Grand Hotel is a horror novel by esteemed best-selling author Scott Kenemore ( Zombie, Ohio) that takes the reader on a thrilling ride through an interconnected series of stories narrated by the desk clerk and the residents of the hotel itself. And while it is not known whether or not the desk clerk is actually the devil incarnate, it is strange that so many visitors who come for a tour of the hotel have a way of never leaving.

This was quite the captivating tale. Told in an array of somewhat "riddles" as the guests entered each room and subsequently left. Small hints, not unlike the proverbial breadcrumbs that are oft left for us to follow throughout a proverb. Very interesting indeed.

I found this book to be very intense and at times ethereal. It was difficult to know the truth from fantasy. As we were meant to feel by the author. It was like experiencing firsthand what the main character was going through. Past and Present weaved seamlessly together! Very enjoyable.

The Perry family's new house is perfect - except for the weird behavior of the neighbors, and that odd smell coming from a dark corner in the basement. Pity no one warned the family about the house. Now it's too late. Because the darkness at the bottom of the basement stairs is rising.

I thought the entire book was well written and narrated. It kept me entranced throughout. From the tale of the main family in the story to the backstory. Or should I say the multiple backstories that made the whole of this tale so interesting to read! Great job all around!

Many times I have not been able to concentrate during the listening of books. I would space off since I wasn't actually reading the book. This one kept my attention with the good narration of the story. Would definitely read more by the author and narrator!
