Overall, the series was fun. I saw a review saying it was kinda a Darren Shan book. I would say the first book was but afterwards the series takes its own identity. Which is awesome, the action in this series is awesome and the visceral scenes were awesome. But I do feel that series was a bit too fast for its own good. In the story it makes sense why it’s move at such a fast paced but still. If anything else I wished there be more afterwards so we could explore the job of the Keeper and the aftermath of this conflict. Maybe even another villain in the next book. But maybe it’s a good thing maybe there wasn’t need to be more and this was all we needed for the story to be complete. But, for me if there is more in the future, I would love to read it.

So, though there is charm and wit, it wasn’t enough to save the book. I thought it would be more entertaining but sadly the event that took place weren’t fun. The characters can be funny at times and there some good messages at the end but I just didn’t enjoy the journey.

Fantastic conclusion to the series. Victor is still one of the smartest man out there and he always 20 step ahead of everyone. But I have to ask, was the loss worth it? There so many people, innocent people who will killed needlessly and Victor was basically directly responsible for many deaths. I feel in the end there should be some kind of strife with the friends, even if it all worked out in the end.
However, I enjoyed the book as it was, an end. Though I remember the author saying it might be four books but oh well, it was a solid end.
Jet, really grew as a character. I’m glad he was thinking more about people than his friends in the end because that’s development.
Action was always amazing and I did like how it felt everything was so close to working until it all crashed and burned in the end. Then finally working.
A great trilogy, I recommend the whole series for anyone looking for a sci-fi dystopian series. It’s fantastic!

Unique Paranormal Investigating (but not)
Reviewed: 03-04-25
There a murder mystery and the paranormal is involved. It can get REALLY gruesome at points. But what brings it together are the characters and how everything comes together. So there paranormal stuff happening and investigating stuff happening too. But all for different reasons. Anyway, at the end, it was a truly enjoyable book and I look forward to more from the author stories.

Story
Villains aren't born, they're made. Witt was an ordinary NPC - a non-player character in a video game. As a kobold skald, he sang songs to empower heroes before they entered the local dungeons. Every day was a fresh start. Every day Witt woke with no memory of his previous encounters with all those so-called heroes. And every day he forgot the countless beatings and deaths he took at the hands of the murder hobos he valiantly buffed. But when all of those memories suddenly come flooding back, he only wants one thing: Revenge.

The story was fast paced and cool. One major thing I wished of the story was it could have been longer. However I do understand why it’s fast paced, the skills unlocked made it easy, as RPGs do. I can get behind the concept of the NPC. However, I would have thought it be funny to see what players think of the villainy stuff happening. However, I can see why if the author wanted to keep much more contain for the story which does make sense. I wonder if there would be more of this character in the future because it does feel like a beginning.
Again, sadly I’m not into RPG games but, I don’t like the perspective this book gives. Very fun.

They watch as larger and more powerful beasts prey on other reckless, foolish spiders, developing a sense of self-preservation and a cunning intelligence they alone seem to possess.

I like perspective of the monster and it thinks. It does make it interesting how Click reacts to situations. The dungeon itself feels like something fun to raid.
Now, I don’t play a lot of RPGs because I’m not a fan of numbers. So there’s a lot in here and I do feel the pacing gets bogged down by all the descriptions of every ability and names. But that’s how RPG elements work so I cannot complain.
All I can say so far, I haven’t found the LitRPG for me yet. But this isn’t a bad one especially utilizing a different perspective.

Over a year has passed since she lost everything, yet as the sanctuary she’s carved for herself begins to crumble, she must summon the strength to endure once more. Venturing beyond her haven exposes her to the horrors spawned by the plague, creatures both cunning and primal. Their origins shrouded in mystery; they pose a formidable threat to any who cross their path. Armed with scant knowledge and a grim resolve, she understands only two truths: they hunt relentlessly, and their chilling gaze is unmistakable—they have eyes of blue.

I read this book when it first came out. I’ve been a fan ever since. And when I saw this on Audible I had to check it out. So I recommend it and I hope to see the next book to come out on Audible in future.
Here’s my original review:
I had a good time with this book. The unique zombies called Deaders were actually different. I like that if you are killed by one, you don't become one. It really flips the head of a zombie apocalypse. The main character was excellent, but a few things did drag it down. The mom coming was nice, but having the brother come back felt a bit too convenient. At some points, it did drag for a little too long, but once the action went into place, it was great. The ending was great and unexpected, and I cannot wait to see what comes next to the story.

When I saw this book I was expecting something else. I for some reason was thinking this is a dark YA. But anyway, this story had a couple of laugh and sad moments.
But the one major thing is how are humans losing?! For real tho, it felt like the squids were really dumb, dumber than they should be. But I thought maybe due to numbers maybe that’s why. But that doesn’t seem right either since any light source kills them. So I’m just left wondering how?
I do like Helmet, he’s definitely someone I enjoy through the story. Getting the alien perspective was cool and how they interacted with the human body was cool. Now if there more of HIM then I can see humanity loosing the war.
Now how it ended, I’m confused on what will happen. It seems a very nice fitted end. But there is a squeal and I guess my question is will it take place on Flipside?

Right off the bat I love the character writing. I think is full of color and fun. Everyone has something to say about anything and it's great fun. However sometimes it feels we stay to one subject a bit too long. Such a place or event, that's where I think this book gets too wordy.
The plot is something I wasn't expecting but I found myself enjoying more and more. Though I think the dream fights are definitely far fetched but I still enjoyed it nonetheless.
