Story
St Philomena's military hospital has been abandoned for over three years. Now Lilian Chesterfield, who works for one of the most successful building companies in England, is in charge of developing it into a luxury housing complex. But as soon as she and her colleagues start work in the Jacobean-style mansion, their dream turns into a nightmare. They hear screaming from wards full of empty beds. They hear doors slamming and find cutlery scattered over the kitchen floor. Then they see faces peering at them from the mullioned windows.

Would be a great movie

But the main character was insufferable. It was so hard to care about what happened to her. It was also obvious that a man wrote her, no woman would look at a haunted house and think about her attractiveness or about her self-worth as a person.
The second half also dragged on and on, it should've been half its length.

Story
Renowned academic Dr Sparling seeks help with his project on a remote Irish village. Historical researchers Ben and Chloe are thrilled to be chosen—until they arrive. The village is isolated and forgotten. There is no record of its history, its stories. There is no friendliness from the locals, only wary looks and whispers. The villagers lock down their homes at sundown. A nameless fear stalks the streets. Nobody will talk—nobody except one little girl. Her story strikes dread into the hearts of the newcomers. Three times you see him. Each night he comes closer.

Story
To the children, the town was their whole world. To the adults, knowing better, Derry, Maine, was just their hometown: familiar, well ordered for the most part. A good place to live. It was the children who saw - and felt - what made Derry so horribly different. In the storm drains, in the sewers, IT lurked, taking on the shape of every nightmare, each one's deepest dread. Sometimes IT reached up, seizing, tearing, killing....

Surely one of the best books I've ever read. The narration was amazing, the story interesting and the characters lovable and memorable. Although I am not one to re-read books, I feel like I'll be coming back to read this again soon. The length of the book was a little daunting, but I'm glad I decided to read it. Personally, I think this book wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, but I am a little desensitized to horror. Still, it's a beautiful story of growing up and the little things about our childhood that we end up forgetting as we grow old. If I didn't make it clear before, I highly recommend this book.

Story
“Sam, could you do me a favor?” Thus begins a story that has now become part of America's true-crime hall of fame. It is a gory, grotesque tale befitting a Stephen King novel. It is also a David and Goliath saga - the story of a young lawyer fresh from the public defender's office whose first client in private practice turns out to be the worst serial killer in our nation's history. This is a gripping true crime narrative that reenacts the gruesome killings and the famous trial that shocked a nation.

One of the best true crime books I've ever read
Reviewed: 09-20-23
As the title says, this book is one of the best true crime books I've ever read, though it is also much different. The book was written by Gacy's attorney, and it shows a side to the story that I had never heard before, that yes, Gacy was a monster but also a crazy person who was not capable of controlling himself. The narrator also did a great job of making the story interesting, he had a very soothing and calm voice. I recommend this book if you're interested in true crime.

Story
When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella's side of the story. At last, listeners can experience Edward's version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun. This unforgettable tale as told through Edward's eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire.

I love this book
Reviewed: 08-16-23
I have to admit, I love Twilight unironically. It's such a crazy story if you think about the characters as real-life people (for example Bella thinking that Edward watching her sleep is acceptable behavior). However, it's also a story that I keep coming back to. The narrator did such a good job of interpreting each character's voice lines and bringing Edward's inner monologues to life. If you're a Twilight fan, I can't recommend this audiobook enough. 10/10.

Interesting book

It was clear that the author favors Betty's side, but I couldn't empathize. Dan wasn't a good person, but his murder wasn't justified, and it felt weird to read the author defending a murder. It's a good story nonetheless, and I'm surprised I didn't know about it.

Candy Montgomery and Betty Gore had a lot in common: They sang together in the Methodist church choir, their daughters were best friends, and their husbands had good jobs working for technology companies in the North Dallas suburbs known as Silicon Prairie. But beneath the placid surface of their seemingly perfect lives, both women simmered with unspoken frustrations and unanswered desires. On a hot summer day in 1980, the secret passions and jealousies that linked Candy and Betty exploded into murderous rage.
