Same feel as the awesome Bobiverse, even if the storyline is completely different. Great job by the narrator. Sooo wish there's a follow up in the future.

Story
I thought getting shot, losing my memory, and being hunted by people I didn't know for reasons I couldn't remember was rock bottom. Turns out I was wrong. I found a shovel, dug a little deeper, and found a whole new sublevel of suck. Apparently, I took something from the Formicary that doesn't belong to me. The boss, Petar Dobroslav, is willing to do just about anything to get it back. Making an enemy of a super-secret organization of assassins might seem like a bad idea and...well, it absolutely is.

Sometimes confusing, but worth it in the end...
Reviewed: 12-30-22
The story went back and forth in time without making it clear to the reader/listener and also added some not so believable scifi-elements without any explanations, but the characters I found held it all up and the narrator was mostly very good, even if most voices were pretty similar.

Really good... but a bit humorless...

Good suspence, ok lovestory (liked the not "happily ever after" ending), but a story that could have used a bit more humor to "speed up the pace". Very good narrator that lifted the story up. In short, I liked it ok 🙂

A bi-themed single parent love story with some interesting twists and turns. Being a x-mas book, it doesn't dig too deep into characters or story, but it had it's moments and I enjoyed it very much and the narrator did a very good job of bringing it to life.

Story
Bookish, snarky, and fiercely independent Nate Boudreaux leads a solitary life. Between teaching classes at the university and working toward his PhD, he doesn’t need a partner to occupy his time, and he certainly doesn’t need a man like Alistair Drake complicating his future. Alistair Drake, black sheep of the tremendously wealthy Drake family, is more interested in adding another notch to his bedpost than another zero to his bank account.

A bit too mushy...

... or "very mushy" as Austin would have said. Different and cool storyline, but a bit slow with too many feely feely-feely talks and not enough humor or suspence /action even though it's set in more or less a full blown apocalypse.

Great writing/story as always, very good voices (even though Bray's Nagatha is better 😉), a bit too much background sound and strange music that distracted more than it enhanced the story. Fun to experience the stpry like this, though 👍

Story
Smart men never dabble with demons. I never claimed to be smart, but at least, I’m powerful enough to control them. When I bound Havoc to me nearly 300 years ago, I never realized how difficult he’d make my life, although “accidentally” lighting him on fire every now and then does bring a smile to my face. Havoc is handsome, mysterious, and somehow, my closest companion, even if we don’t always get along.
