Publisher's summary

Smart men quit while they’re ahead - they lay low and hope disaster blows on by them. Not me. Especially when disaster seems to follow me and my soulmate Havoc, a demon I bound to me 300 years ago with my magic.

The dark mage Geoff is back from the dead and creating chaos by devouring the hearts of people with magical abilities, giving him overwhelming power as his followers grow. And since I’m one of the strongest mages alive and am leading the resistance against him, he’s coming for me next. Oh, and it might have something to do with the fact that I was also the one who originally killed him. But you can’t blame me; the guy needed to die.

Havoc and I, along with our unlikely band of...(I don’t want to say heroes, I can’t give them that much credit) annoyances will stop at nothing to end the destruction. It doesn’t hurt that there’s a sexy demon by my side every step of the way. For the first time in 300 years, I’m finally with the person meant for me, and I will do anything to keep from losing him.

Familiar Beginnings is a 63k word sequel to Happy Endings. Contains a powerful mage who just wants to be left in peace, a mysterious curly-haired troublemaker, gargoyles that are literally dumber than stone, a river trip that doesn’t feel at all like a vacation, and a “cat” with some unusual features and deadly claws.

Sooo good!!!

I loved this story, but even more as the audio. Alice Winters created a brilliant story with memorable characters, including Menace, Etienne, Iya and of course, Miles and Havoc.
Greg Boudreaux outdid himself with this! All the way a perfect fit for the story and characters. This is going on my relisten shelf❤❤❤

Perfect Pairing of Author and Narrator

I was introduced to Alice Winters when I read The Hitman's Guide series and instantly fell in love with the characters and unique storytelling. This series is another hit for me, fun snarky paranormal beings and shenanigans that make you laugh out loud. A romance that isn't your standard hearts and flowers insta-love but born of hundreds of years, of forced proximity and mutual irritation. I'd say they Stockholmed each other and the results make for epic reading.

Great story. Great narration.

Alice Winters' books are a great way to escape a difficult day. The Demon Magic series has just the right balance of humor and sincerity packed into an romantic adventure.

Greg Boudreaux is an excellent narrator for this series, and his narration adds some extra emotion to the story.

It was just as good as I hoped it would be.

I really enjoyed book one so I looking forward to book two. I laughed from the first chapter. I has a great plot, lots of fun characters and a red "cat". Also Greg Boudreaux is one of my favorite narrators. It kept me entertained all day while I cleaned house, and I really hate cleaning house. Thank you Alice.

Hoping that Alice Winters decides to continue this series! I love the main characters and the magic is well done in my opinion.
