Publisher's summary

In a world that’s burning, where it’s every man for himself, all they can do to survive is hold on to each other.

The world has changed. Tan has survived three years in a reintegration camp he was sent to for being gay, but he's at the limit of what he can endure, even with the help of his best friend Austin.

When a massive meteor shower creates chaos at the camp, Austin and Tan take the chance to escape. They’re joined by Mack, a newbie at camp, who is an expert in survival but knows nothing about love...or anything else.

But when they discover human-like aliens have landed on Earth with war on their agenda, their escape becomes a hell of a lot more dangerous. They grow close, but without power and food and no safe place to stay, how will they survive?

They find shelter but quickly discover that they can no longer tell who friends are...and who the enemy is. With the world bing-destroyed before their eyes and their lives and that of mankind at stake, where can they find safety, freedom...and love?

While the world around them burns, all they have are each other.

The Ignite Trilogy is a slow burn MMM romance set in a dystopian world and offers a thrilling combination of action, romance, and suspense. Now, for the first time in one box set: all three books plus exclusive, never-before-released bonus chapters and a bonus novella called Pax.

Hot, hot love

Somebody call the fire department because I am SMOKING. I mean a cigarette from all the Oprah’s I had. This series has mesmorised me. Never knew I needed hot MMM romance. And in a dystopian future- checking all my boxes. Wow, Nora Phoenix has done it again!

Worth the listen

I really liked the character development and the story plot and development. I think this is worth listening to if the summary catches your interest! There is a bit of sexual assault/harassment in this book, but its a gay apocalypse story with a strong homophobic starting plot, so idk what to expect there, but it wasn't too graphic or off-putting for me personally but be wary! 4/5 from me in total :)

WOW

This new world Nora Pheonix has created is so believable. I really enjoyed how she portrayed the new landscape and how she great the relationship between the 3 MC's. Kenneth Obi did a wonderful job - as always.

Wow

I loved all of the different angles this book went into. I also love how the author shows the connection between all three of the characters.

Slow burn worthwhile

Not into apocalypse storylines usually, so it was a challenge to listen at times. Heavy, real talk experiences (abuses; definitely trigger warning) was also hard but made the story fuller. Got pulled in, even if it made me anxious AF. Kenneth Obi's work was on point. Slow burning that does get to a HEA. Worthwhile.

Loved this trilogy

This trilogy has it all. Complex characters, an exciting story line. I bought the kindle version and liked it so much I purchased the audio version. Nora Phoenix is one of the best authors in this genre.

A bit too mushy...

... or "very mushy" as Austin would have said. Different and cool storyline, but a bit slow with too many feely feely-feely talks and not enough humor or suspence /action even though it's set in more or less a full blown apocalypse.

Amazing story ❤️

This story was wondering. Kenneth Obi performance was spot on as always, his voice for Pax and his friends was my favorite. However Mack's voice was cringed and weird.

TW: the series has heavy mention of graphic r@p÷ and abuse which maybe too much for some. In fact the first passage is Austin trying to get away from a known r*pist/abuser. Thankfully his plan failed and he got what he deserved as well as others.

The trio was beautiful, and their found family was wholesome filled with loved, and the strength to take care or each other equally. Them finding new friends in times of trouble and worry was perfect.
Pax oh I wish you were real and we were friends, you're just the kindest, and sweetest person someone could hope to have in their life.

Things I wanted:
*I wish there was more danger, fighting and our guys trying to survive in the wild.
* Also, I wanted to hear how the cabinets reacted to Pax.

Great except for the novella Pax

I really enjoyed this story and thought Kenneth Obi did a great job except for the voice of the aliens - which despite being described as melodic, was anything but. It wasn’t a big deal until Pax’s romance story. It was just so off putting hearing that voice and inflection attributed to him. That plus I didn’t really get the relationship.

Tan, Mac, and Austin however, were great!

Fantastic Dystopian Romance

This is a 3 book compendium, with a bonus novella. In an alternate United States which has been divided by civil war into three separate countries, we meet the three MC's in a "camp" for queer and trans individuals who were born with male parts. They escape the hellish camp thanks to what turns out to be an alien invasion. The books follow their journey, trials, and tribulations as they struggle to survive and escape the murderous aliens. Along the way, they fall in love and form an amazing bond and relationship.

With novels like this it is so easy for authors to make the whole situation unbelievable. Nora Phoenix has a talent for world-building, and this series is no exception. Now, I'm not an expert on surviving an apocalypse and alien invasion, so maybe she missed some stuff or got stuff wrong, but heck if I could tell if that were the case. She manages to detail how these men survived without making it boring. Yeah, maybe it's too coincidental that one of the three happens to be the son of a doomsday prepper, but the characters actually mention multiple times how lucky they were to have stumbled upon him.
And it's dystopian fiction. If aliens can invade with spider bots, one of our MC's can have extensive knowledge on living off the grid. Without him, they'd have died in the first two chapters, which would certainly not make for good reading/listening.

I read this series book series about a year ago and loved it. After a character takeover in the author's Facebook group, I got the hankering to read it again, but I have enough books to read. When I saw that the box set was available as a complete audio set, I was sold. I was nervous about it a little because the late Kenneth Obi is hit or miss for me, but he did a phenomenal job with this series. Much like I couldn't put the books down, I couldn't stop listening, even though I knew what was coming.

The series had just the right amount of angst for the type of books they are. The characters all have their own personalities and are really likeable. Especially Pax in his novella. He's so sweet you want to squeeze him. Or at least I did. I wanted to squeeze Mac too, actually. Lots of squishiness without being too much.
