I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it definitely lived up to its name of plot twist. I enjoyed following along with Olivia Ross over 10 years of February 4 and loved the ending. Great characters and really great narrator. Highly recommend!

A little too spicy for me
Reviewed: 06-17-24
Good story overall. Just a little too spicy and a little too much language for me. Normally, language doesn’t bother me too much, but this seemed a like a little much. Cute story overall though if you can get past that - it was just distracting to me and I didn’t think it was needed. The female narrator was ok, just seemed a little over dramatic at times. I enjoyed the male narrator however.

Story
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Beautiful story and wonderful characters
Reviewed: 02-23-24
Loves this story from beginning to end. Every character was so well done, and the author did an amazing job, weaving their stories together, while keeping the mystery until the end Marsellus the octopus is probably one of my favorite characters ever. it took me a while to read this one because I thought it might be sad because I heard it had to do with a child dying, but I was pleasantly surprised and it wasn’t sad. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an inspiring story.

Cute “you’ve got mail” vibes
Reviewed: 02-11-24
Fun, lighthearted, romcom with definite “you’ve got Mail” vibes. the performance was good from both characters, and it was fun to see how things would play out, even though it was easy to tell how everything would end. if you’re looking for just a light hearted romance, that’s entertaining this one’s for you.

Story
Austen wrote, 'I am going to take a heroine whom no-one but myself will much like' and thus introduces the handsome, clever, rich - and flawed, Emma Woodhouse. Emma is perfectly content with her life and sees no need for either love or marriage; nothing however delights her more than matchmaking her fellow residents of Highbury. But when she ignores the warnings of her good friend Mr. Knightley and attempts to arrange a suitable match for her protegee Harriet Smith, her carefully laid plans soon unravel and have consequences that she never expected.

Really enjoyed this production of Emma. The characters and narration were very well done and true to the original story. Made it much easier to get through all the language that is sometimes difficult in Jane Austen novels definitely recommend!

For Dee Kwan, every day is the perfect day. No, really. She has a house she loves, a job she adores, and a ridiculously attractive “nemesis” who never seems to mind when she wins their favorite online game. How can life possibly get better? (It can’t, obviously. It can only get much, much worse.) Soon Dee is forced to share her adorably cozy home with her parents and estranged grandmother. Then she’s tossed into the deep end at work, tasked with cleaning up a scandal for the intimidatingly chic luxury fashion firm Celeste. If that weren’t enough, she discovers her hot nemesis works there, too.

Story
Nora Hamilton knows the formula for love better than anyone. As a romance channel screenwriter, it’s her job. But when her too-good-to work husband leaves her and their two kids, Nora turns her marriage’s collapse into cash and writes the best script of her life. No one is more surprised than her when it’s picked up for the big screen and set to film on location at her 100-year-old-home. When former Sexiest Man Alive, Leo Vance, is cast as her ne’er do well husband Nora’s life will never be the same.

Kept me guessing
Reviewed: 01-10-24
I read a lot of romantic comedies like this, and I will say generally they are pretty formulaic. However, what I didn’t expect from this book was how it kept me in suspense until the end. It was a bit of a roller coaster in all the best ways. I really enjoyed the characters And found myself invested in what happened next. Really enjoyed the story and the narration overall. Definitely recommend!
