Nora’s life is about to get a rewrite…

Nora Hamilton knows the formula for love better than anyone. As a romance channel screenwriter, it’s her job. But when her too-good-to work husband leaves her and their two kids, Nora turns her marriage’s collapse into cash and writes the best script of her life. No one is more surprised than her when it’s picked up for the big screen and set to film on location at her 100-year-old-home. When former Sexiest Man Alive, Leo Vance, is cast as her ne’er do well husband Nora’s life will never be the same.

The morning after shooting wraps and the crew leaves, Nora finds Leo on her porch with a half-empty bottle of tequila and a proposition. He’ll pay a thousand dollars a day to stay for a week. The extra seven grand would give Nora breathing room, but it’s the need in his eyes that makes her say yes. Seven days: it’s the blink of an eye or an eternity depending on how you look at it. Enough time to fall in love. Enough time to break your heart.

Filled with warmth, wit, and wisdom, Nora Goes Off Script is the best kind of love story—the real kind where love is complicated by work, kids, and the emotional baggage that comes with life. For Nora and Leo, this kind of love is bigger than the big screen.

Light but not sappy

Loved this book! Great story about strength ,misunderstanding , overcoming & of course Love! Not sappy & not vulgar or explicit…classy! This books adds to rather than depleting brain cells😁. Excellent narration too.

Great Escape

My friend suggested this title as a 'perfect cotton candy read', and she was absolutely right! It was quick and light, and just the distraction I needed! Ms. Monaghan nailed the romance television scene, and I know I'll be chuckling the next time I stumble upon a made-for-tv romance.

With regard to the narration, Ms. Huber does a beautiful job telling the story in first person Nora. However, I found the impersonations of the characters distracting, especially those of the daughter and of Nora herself. (Why such a shift in cadence and tone in Nora when she is the one telling the story?) I guess I would prefer someone simply reading the story with expression, rather than trying to act it out for me, but that is just me. Others may enjoy this dramatic flair.

Narration ruins it

The narrator is the main thing wrong with this. Like an older woman with a valley girl voice. Same dynamic over and over. Should have read it instead of listening.

We’ve all been there…. Beautiful escape

As the book ends- I’m left thinking we have all been there. Annabel brilliantly describes relationships and the ability to to identify with both Nora, Leo, and maybe even Ben is unnerving.

Just wishing my own “ghosting” experiences had this kind of plot twist.

Loved this book so much! Thank you for this experience!

Adorable Witty Romance

I liked this book
A little different from the usual romance or chick lit
An older female protagonist , with children
Clever dialogue
And the traditional ending
Is that a spoiler for this genre?

Beautiful story

I smile at the fact that she write romantic movies, which I watch all the time. I think they are cheesy and unreal, but that’s why I like them. I also love that she was self reliant but new to ask for help from her family and friend. Never assume!!

So so so good!

This is a great novel! A quick and charming listen! Very cute, light hearted, and easy to relate to. I loved the characters, and seeing how a single mother was able to conquer her challenges and find love again. Definitely recommend!
