Story
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

Beautiful Story of Grief and Hope
Reviewed: 05-18-23
Loved this book. I didn’t want it to end! The character development made me care about the characters and the mystery just rolled right along. Love the inclusion of God, Jesus and theme of faith. Grief is so hard to live through. This was just a beautiful story that sings of hope in our lives through our Heavenly Father and those he sends to aid us in our journey.

Story
At 29, Kelsey Miller had done it all: crash diets, healthy diets, and nutritionist-prescribed "eating plans", which are diets that you pay more money for. She'd been fighting her un-thin body since early childhood and, after a lifetime of failure, finally hit bottom. No diet could transform her body or her life. There was no shortcut to skinny salvation. She'd dug herself into this hole, and now it was time to climb out of it.

Loved this book and the author’s insights. I thank her for taking us on the journey with her and teaching valuable lessons along the way. Although around 21 years her senior, I struggled in my youth with many of the situations and feelings she did. At this late date, her words are helping me heal too! If you have struggled with weight and the brunt of disapproval or downright hatred because of it, please read. Her performance is spot on too! Rock on, Kelsey!!!!!!

Awesome True Story of What Love Is
Reviewed: 12-30-22
I usually avoid books about animals because it hurts to know of their suffering. There are some moments that will make you cry, but the lessons in this book from Annie McNulty and her daughter Laurie are spectacular and wonderful! Worth every tear of sadness and happiness. God bless all the animals and the wonderful people who love and care for them! I am totally inspired!

Just okay

I would have enjoyed this more if the profanity didn’t get so bad at the end of the book. Also the use of the Lord’s name in vain (for Christians) was simply not necessary. If I had known it was going to be that way, I would have never read this book. I wish there was a foul language indicator on audible books. It’s so much worse hearing it out loud.

Story
Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

THE PAST DEFINES THE FUTURE!!!
Reviewed: 10-28-13
Would you listen to Doctor Sleep again? Why?
Yes! Stephen King is always so great with details and it's easy to miss some of the nuances of the story. It was a great story and I was kept very interested. Didn't want it to end.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Doctor Sleep?
Can't elaborate without spoilers!
Which character – as performed by Will Patton – was your favorite?
Dan. King does a beautiful job of making him real and giving him the dimensions a real person would have.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I never cried. I laughed a couple of times. However, I found myself talking out loud to the characters while I was listening. I was really into the story! I found myself cheering every time there was a "win."
Any additional comments?
TOTALLY AWESOME!
