Not as good as previous efforts
Reviewed: 12-27-17
Lacking in character development, story is moderately entertaining but not developed in the way as former chronicles. Seems more like a small story for Gun Digest relying heavily on pages of discussion of weaponry at the loss of a cogent sorry or characters one can understand or relate to. Stick with previous works.

Good book, character presentation and creativity

Whilst a good book generally it is overlong and is lurching from one monster fight scene to the next with insufficient plot development interspersed with repetitiveness. It needed much better editing or abridging leaving character development and better thought out faster moving plot.

So wonderful that an American git can so embrace and improve on English language version of King Lear and multiple intertwined Shakespeare plays in an unholy amalgam which is brilliantly performed and a thoroughly enjoyable listen. Highly recommended . Unmissable ...

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

He takes one concept and beats it to death for several hours
Reviewed: 01-10-17
This must be a book for the intellectually challenged. He takes the Buddhist concept of suffering being the central element of life and the acceptance of this in the 21st century then hits you on the head with it for many hours. This epiphany comes after many years apparently getting it wrong and now at the sage age of 30 he rediscovers it like an undergrad sophomore and should perhaps reread his book again. Anyone who purports to get it, doesn't get it.

Aside from a much too long drawn out climactic battle scene this is an excellent instalment in the demon accord series and great story telling with well observed consistent characterisation, plot tricks and satisfying forward action. Outstanding performance as always by the narrator who infuses life into the characters and adds immensely to the effect of the narrative.

Very good story and Mr Coben is very good at characterisation plotting and suspense. He should leave the 'performance 'part to others though as he is not a great narrator and the New York type accent is hard on the ear to we Brits.

This book made me put it down several times but I kept hoping it would get better. It didn't. The author who also narrates is seemingly a self obsessive who beloved his anecdotes are funny and for the greater part they aren't just boring like an old drunk who corners you in a bar to tell you all the self apparent stuff they have 'discovered' and which is put down to folk wisdom. Sorry it's just boring. Spend your money and time on something useful like watching paint dry.

After he astonishes a New Jersey courtroom by successfully appealing another golden's death sentence, Andy discovers that this gentle dog is a key witness to a murder that took place five years before. Andy pushes the boundaries of the law even further as he struggles to free an innocent man by convincing an incredulous jury to take canine testimony seriously. Another great book by David Rosenfelt and a superb performance by Grover Gardener. Excellent characterisation, witty, and a winning formula even as the plot is ever so slightly 'far fetched'.... Probably the title of his next book I imagine. No doubt the Pulitzer Prize is in the post and he hasn't mentioned it in the acknowledgements out of customary shyness and modesty.
