Book not right
Reviewed: 12-21-24
I thought the book would talk more about John Williams. Instead, it was a history of music. I’m sorry, but this is not right.

This landmark production, perhaps the most ambitious radio project ever attempted, began when Star Wars creator George Lucas donated the story rights to an NPR affiliate. Writer Brian Daley adapted the film's highly visual script to the special demands and unique possibilities of radio, creating a more richly textured tale with greater emphasis on character development.

Story
In a career that spanned decades, John Denver earned international acclaim as a singer, songwriter, actor, and environmental activist. Songs like "Take Me Home, Country Roads", "Rocky Mountain High", and "Annie's Song" have entered the canon of universal anthems, but at his start John Denver was a young man with little more than a fine voice, a guitar, and a dream. Growing up in a conservative military family, he was not expected to drop out of college and head to Los Angeles, where the music scene was flourishing. Nor was he expected to succeed.

Al Michaels Book very wonderful
Reviewed: 05-02-16
If you could sum up You Can't Make This Up in three words, what would they be?
Really, Really Good
What other book might you compare You Can't Make This Up to and why?
Don't know one off the top of my head.
Have you listened to any of Al Michaels and Ray Porter ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was the first one about Al Michaels. It was very good.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, it wasn't.
Any additional comments?
My dad met Al Michaels for a moment in 1991 in Denver while I was getting ready for a performance. I wish I kept the thing he signed.
