Im all in on an age gap but i get the ick when the youngest is a minor when they meet. So it was hard to really get into this one…. Ngl i understood the daughter a lot. You wanted the MC’s to get their happy ending but i needed to forget that she was only 17 when they met…

Overall i enjoyed their story.
But more often than not i felt so frustrated with both characters.
Both had terrible communication skills or lack there of.
Fmc hardly stood up for herself. Felt loney but also didnt let anyone help her by not telling anyone her struggles.
MMC was just a jerk to her for most of the book. His growth was set up so well yet as soon as he can change and use his growth to stop any misunderstandings he once again keeps his mouth shut which leads to another quick misunderstood heartbreak for fmc.
I got very emotional along with FMC whenever MMC would inadvertently hurt her. I wanted to smack mmc when he had his college “friend” ugh i personally hated that whole storyline.
Both of them were kinda terrible friends to those around them honestly very self centered on their own problems.
Im glad they eventually realized that. If anything. I hope to see them throughout the series and maybe they redeem themselves on that front.
First couple I’ve ever felt were toxic for each other. Maybe it’s just me. 😅

Im all for a damsel in distress but Fmc is reallt getting on my nerves. Isnit a good thing or had thing?? …. Im enjoying the story overall and i need to know what happends. But frustration with the FMC is bringing me down. I hope to see character growth with part 2

I liked this one a lot. I wish we could have gotten more of them together loving happily. But overall i really enjoyed their story. Alex Kydd never disappoints… the female narrator however left a bit to be desired not terrible but her monotone narration wasnt doing it for me.

Worth the read but not my fave in the series

I have loved all of these books and I love a why choose romance, but……
let me tell u i hate a cheating trope and this felt very close to that (for me) at least imo the lines are blurred and i didn’t enjoy that gut punch feeling when it was happening. The secret keeping and dishonesty between the leads just made it feel like that to me so it was hard to fully enjoy it.
All that aside they do get their HEA and come clean so it’s definitely worth the read.

Ruthless, arrogant, and cold-hearted are some of the words I would use to describe my a**hole of a boss, Damon Everette. That doesn't stop the goosebumps from rising along my neck every time he says my name or the way my pulse races when his stormy gray eyes pierce mine. So, when he coerces me into a fake marriage to uphold his family's tradition, I can't resist pushing his buttons. He's a walking red flag, and I should run the second this arrangement ends. But the very thought of losing him is suffocating—a dangerous addiction that I can't seem to break.

Sure, i also didn’t like that the first time we met the MMC he’s (trying) to receive a happy ending but in his defense at that time he and the FMC are not together and his obsession (FMC) helps him along when she walks in. She didnt hold it against him cause its not cheating. And she was kinda into it. 😅😅
Anyways i definitely do not gwt the hate but thats just me.
Even though Misty kinda irked me with her stubbornness at times, but the MMC loved her challenges and it overall worked for this story. I loved how obsessed/possesive/protective Damon was. Will definitely be reading the next book!
