About this listen

From New York Times best-selling author, Penelope Douglas, comes a new stand-alone!

Three of them, one of her, and a remote cabin in the woods. Let the hot winter nights ensue....

Tiernan de Haas doesn’t care about anything anymore. The only child of a film producer and his starlet wife, she’s grown up with wealth and privilege but not love or guidance. Shipped off to boarding schools from an early age, it was still impossible to escape the loneliness and carve out a life of her own. The shadow of her parents’ fame followed her everywhere.

And when they suddenly pass away, she knows she should be devastated. But has anything really changed? She’s always been alone, hasn’t she?

Jake Van der Berg, her father’s stepbrother and her only living relative, assumes guardianship of Tiernan who is still two months shy of 18. Sent to live with him and his two sons, Noah and Kaleb, in the mountains of Colorado, Tiernan soon learns that these men now have a say in what she chooses to care and not care about anymore.

As the three of them take her under their wing, teach her to work and survive in the remote woods far away from the rest of the world, she slowly finds her place among them.

And as a part of them.

She also realizes that lines blur and rules become easy to break when no one else is watching.

One of them has her.

The other one wants her.

But he....

He’s going to keep her.

This one was not my typical read. It was much darker and the content was a bit more taboo for me. But I loved it! I ended up getting the actual book and reading instead of listening to the audiobook. The narration was not great. I found that I enjoyed the story so much more without the narrators. The female they use was so monotone that it was hard to listen beyond that. But the story is so great… Steamy But with so much heart. Highly recommend reading the book

Crazy good

There were moments in this book where I had to stop to yell about how ridiculous it was. But I kept reading it. The story itself was interesting but it does get to a point where it’s just smut scene after smut scene. And a lot of it was smut I’m not exactly used to. I was able to compartmentalize some of the more…problematic scenes but there were some things that just left a bad taste in my mouth. I like how it ended, I liked most of the characters. But it wasn’t the best thing I’ve read by any means.

Eh

Credence was really interesting. Characters had depth, the story was well thought out, but it had some weird moments and situations. The villain was a complete psycho, felt slightly forced at times. The whole uncle, older man/younger woman was just weird at times and I heavily blame the male narration. I hated the narrator for Jake. If I was to listen again I will just skip his chapters. Overall worth the credit. Its kind of a reverse harem situation... sorta. I will say this, she chose RIGHT! I was team Kaleb the whole time... and I loved Noah too tho ( irritated by the male narrator for him too ).

Mixed emotions! But worth a listen...

I mean I understand why, but still don't understand why. but this book is a good reason why people need therapy.

why?

It honestly gets so bad, it sounds Irish at a point. The smut is good though. Story line is kinda weird but I listened until the end.

The one voice actors Indian accent is so bad

what a book! I was up pasted 2am, even though I had to get up and do homeschooling with my daughter. It was worth it! I did not want this story to 🔚 end. I hope Penelope Douglas makes a series out of this book. I would love to see how Jake and Noah's life's turn out..while continuing to see what Tiernan and Kaleb are up to plus their son Griffin... yes please more PD 😃

One of my favorite books now didn't want it to end

I didn't see the HEA coming, but I experienced the gamut of feelings along the way. Mirth, heat, fear, horror and joy, complete with tears. Penelope Douglas and the team of fantastic narrators have provided an experience, not just a book. Credence is truly something special, though not for the faint of heart.

Long, but worth it!
