Story
On a freezing February day, a stranger emerges from out of the gray to request a room at a local provincial inn. Who is this out-of-season traveler? More confounding is the thick mask of bandages obscuring his face. Why does he disguise himself in this manner and keep himself hidden away in his room? Aroused by trepidation and curiosity, the local villagers bring it upon themselves to find the answers.

Great book. I finished it very quickly. It was more humorous than expected which was nice. There are some dated social ideas in it sadly, but that is to be expected, and they are not great in number. The performance was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend this version.

Written after his wife's tragic death as a way of surviving the "mad midnight moments", A Grief Observed is C.S. Lewis's honest reflection on the fundamental issues of life, death, and faith in the midst of loss. This work contains his concise, genuine reflections on that period.

This is the true account of the authors grief written by his own hand. It's not the type of thing I normally listen to but I love it. I have the ebook, audiobook, and even a physical copy. I have absorbed them multiple times. There is a pretty good breakdown of this in "The Funeral Papers" ebook. It is very Christian but not in an off-putting way. The narrator was also incredible and seemed very professional. Great buy.

Ex-cop Henry Shore has been Chief Park Ranger at Crater Lake National Park for eight years and he likes his park and his life the way it's been. Safe. Tranquil. Predictable. But he's about to be tested in so many ways. First the earthquakes begin, people begin to go missing, then there's some mysterious water creature that's taken up residence in the caves below Crater Lake and it's not only growing in size, it's aggressive and cunning and very hungry.

Slow start but worth the wait

My favorite Dinosaur novel series starts here. The start is very slow but it develops the characters well. The dinosaur is a fictional species that seems generic at first but turns out to be pretty unique. It even has a pretty happy ending. The narrator is fantastic as well. He sounds just like I'd imagine some of the characters do. My complaints are pretty minor all things considered. The author chimed in on a YouTube review I did for the book and assured me she had never seen the film "Crater Lake Monster" which the basic plot of this book heavily resembles. That's pretty easy to believe when you fully compare the two. Very fun book.

Robinson delivers as always. The Project Nemesis series is a kaiju classic for a reason. Our protagonist seems like a lazy jerk at first but he really shapes up. Our kaiju is actually pretty unique for the genre. I was very pleased. Fantastic book with good narration to boot. Will listen again, likely several times. Island 731 does not need to be read before this book, but it does need to be read before the next book, Project Maigo. I recommend all three.

Story
With Project Nemesis, Jeremy Robinson introduced the world of popular fiction to Kaiju, a word that has become popularized by the movie Pacific Rim, and is associated with classic movie monsters such as Godzilla and Gamera. In the year since the release of Project Nemesis, the audiobook has become the best-selling original Kaiju novel of all time, and it is being featured in the video game Colossal Kaiju Combat: Fall of Nemesis. In Project Maigo, Robinson amps up the scale, the characters and the city-stomping action, treating listeners to a truly monstrous experience typically reserved for the big screen.

Great sequel. It follows the classic Kaiju series formula: first book is monster vs man, second book is monster vs monster vs man. Is that cliché? Yes, but he brings his unique touch to the story. The monsters are very cool and the story is engaging. You really feel for these characters, including the monster, Nemesis. Just remember to read Island 731 before this book. It is necessary and many forget to give it a read. Narrator did a great job. I love Robinson and hope he writes books forever.

Very fun scifi book. It's not wholly original but if it's written well who cares right? One of my favorite writers and one of my favorite series of books, just make sure you listen to this BEFORE Project Maigo. Some reveals were predictable but not all. The book is well written with good characters and cool monsters. What more could one ask for? The narrator nailed it as well. Very enjoyable.

What a sequel should be
Reviewed: 07-28-21
This book jumps right into the dinosaurs and action. It doesn't assume the reader/listener forgot the entire last book like many sequels do. It upgrades the dinosaur threat and makes it different enough from the first. I also love the author's take on dinosaurs. It is quite unique. The narrator does a great job. He sounds like I would imagine the main character sounds like. Only things I can think to complain about: the dialogue can feel forced sometimes and younger characters often use the vocabulary of older people because the writer herself is older. Honestly though, those complaints are easy to dismiss. The cancer sub plot seems to wrap up a little too easily and should have carried over to the next book,, bit I've read the third book and now that complaint is less valid.I love this series. Give it a shot!

These are the films/shows nobody talks about. I love both books in this "series". They really touch on the parts of Lugosi's career that no one talks about. This book covers his late career where he mostly performed in forgettable low budget Productions, but I've never seen a forgettable Lugosi performance myself to date. The book is highly detailed, well written, and the narrator is top tier. He actually sounds like a character that would be in a Lugosi film. Fantastic work.

Boris Karloff was the most famous of all horror actors. His memorable portrayal of the Frankenstein monster added a new word to English dictionaries. This new edition of the first biography (published in 1972) - containing a new foreword by Eric McNaughton as well as a special piece about the book by grandson Ben Underwood, reveals that Karloff was not born at Dulwich, London, as stated in all the reference books.

I was very happy with this purchase. Most material about Karloff I have absorbed only talks about his career, and this book focused on that as well, but there were many details about his personal life. It even touches on his childhood which I have never heard anyone speak on before. This book does him justice. Great narration makes it a classic among horror film history books.
