Story
The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight -- telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.

very immature character
Reviewed: 09-09-23
I had to stop listening due to the complete immaturity of the female main character. She is a grad student and throws a fit when her boss rejects her.

Story
It wasn't supposed to be like this.... I wasn't supposed to be boyfriendless, homeless, and jobless at 28. And I most definitely wasn't supposed to hit Hollywood's resident bad boy Gabriel Evans with my car and break his foot. Now I'm stuck in his apartment, taking care of him while he's incapacitated. Living with the hottest guy in Hollywood, who I've had a crush on forever, doesn't sound like a chore, right? Wrong. Gabriel Evans is rude and crude and drinks way too much, and as soon as his foot is healed I'm out of here. So why do I keep forgetting to check the classifieds?

overall good
Reviewed: 07-10-22
The story was pretty good but there were a few things that bothered me. First, the female main character is not a responsible pet owner. One should not get an exotic pet without researching if you can provide a proper environment for it. I'm sure the pet and her willingness to be homeless was supposed to make her endearing but if she truly cared she would have found a proper home for it.
The main male character was not that appealing. He made up for it at times but the indoor smoking and excessive drinking made him unappealing. And those vices added nothing to the story, just sort of glossed over at the end.

combative personality and misogyny
Reviewed: 05-02-22
Both the main characters were annoying. The female lead was very immature and excessively combative because she doesn't know how to communicate. I think that overly angsty style is some people's cup of tea and clearly not mine so I didn't rate this lower. The male main character's viewpoint was misogynistic. He was clearly devoted to her but did not look at the her as an equal partner.

female main character is unforgivable
Reviewed: 04-22-22
I usually avoid audiobooks narrated by Erin Mallon because I can't stand her vocal fry and how she extends the end of her words. I enjoy this series so I bought the audiobook before I realized it. her voice is annoying but the character is unforgivable. Filming a sex video without the other person's consent is never ok. It is completely reprehensible and I can't get past that.

tried too hard to be funny but was often cringey
Reviewed: 04-21-22
The female main character was so cringey. She sounded like someone who not only was a virgin but all of her friends are virgins. Some things were so ridiculous to be funny but instead felt like listening to a pre-teen half the time. Parts of the story were great and the story was mostly fun but had annoying parts.

Story
The quintessential question asked to every couple. And the answer is usually some bubbly, lovey dovey tale of being struck in the bum by Cupid’s arrow. My meet cute (well, not so meet cute) is slightly different. I was trolling a wealthy neighborhood in Beverly Hills, searching for someone to take me as their bride, you know, to make my arch nemesis jealous who consequently just fired me.

contradictions
Reviewed: 03-15-22
It is a cute fake relationship story but there were several annoying things. The female main character was so contradictory. Initially she was searching for a fake rich boyfriend then later acted like she couldn't accept anything from him, even help getting a job. She claimed to hate all the lying but lied to her mom and step dad. She had a business degree but didn't bother to read the contract. She tells him she sleeps naked then finds the pajamas too skimpy.
There was a bit too much overly moodiness from both at the beginning but it got better.

I had a plan to escape the friend zone. Step one: sneak into Reed’s room. Step two: sleep with him. But when the lights turned on, it wasn’t familiar blue eyes I saw. These were dark, angry, and full of demons. And they belonged to Reed’s much-older brother. Four years later, Nash Prescott is no longer the help’s angry son. I’m no longer the town’s prized princess. At 22, I’m broke, in need of a job. At 32, he’s a billionaire, in need of revenge.

I'm not like other girls
Reviewed: 01-14-22
This book was such a drag. The story asked mr to suspend my disbelief too many times. She is not like other girls and uses Spelling Bee words to soothe herself. All that does is prolong the book.
I was particularly annoyed when there were multiple chapters about her not reading and him trying to coax her to eat. Ok we get it. She's stubborn and not like other girls.
