Allie Harris wants payback.
Her cheating ex deserves to see her living her best life; a one-night-stand with a hot South African soccer player would be the perfect revenge. Right?
Wrong. Allie is so, so wrong.
Roan Dewalt has all the moves.
On and off the field he’s at the top of his game. Roan respects hard work, dedication, and follow through. He’s not a one-and-done kind of man, and he’s far from being done with Allie Harris.
One sexy night and two years later, Allie’s job brings her back to town. An opportunity for the perfect replay Roan has been fantasizing about since they slept together.
The problem?
Allie Harris has a secret, one she’s been keeping from Roan all this time. Video proof of their one night together taken without his consent.
Will Allie’s payback plan come back to bite them both? Or can she erase her past mistake and embrace a new future with Roan?

Best multi cast narration ever!

The appearances of the Harris family was a wonderful bonus to this story. They are one of my all time favorite fictional families and I enjoyed getting updates on all of these characters that had already stolen my heart. I really look forward to Blindsided, which will feature another couple from this world Amy Daws has created
Amazing Narration!

Definitely above what I was expecting.
This story involved SO MANY characters and I was nervous that it may not sound like I had imagined in my head. When I began listening, I knew that it was going to be BETTER than I imagined. I felt every emotion and it was as though I was there with them in the story. Fantastic performance.
Story Review:
"Why are you so persistent about this?" Pinning me with his smouldering eyes, he lifts his brows knowingly. "Because I know anything worth having is worth working hard for."
Let me just be fair in saying I'm 100% in love with the Harris brothers, their women, and basically anyone lucky enough to truly be a part of their life. I just want to get that out there right at the beginning, okay? Okay. Now, let's talk about Roan.
Right from the beginning, I was totally into him. I can't even tell you how much I'm anticipating the audio to hear the accent, because I think I may swoon more (I'll let you know). As the story continued, I was waiting to be annoyed, frustrated, or even disgusted with Roan, but ... I just wasn't. He is such a good guy.
Allie, although from the Harris line and quite likable, frustrated me. I completely understood how hurt she was and how badly she wanted to make herself feel whole again. I could even understand her plan of attack in seeking revenge, but ... I'm not sure I fully agreed with her. You feel me? Also, I'm a HUGE fan of honesty, so when she keeps gliding past opportunities to share the truth, I was so disappointed.
BUT, this story...gah, lovely. Allie and Roan have much to face in finding one another, but I loved that it seemed Roan was the one truly giving his feelings first. So often, I feel, in stories about love that I've read, the woman is always revealing her feelings first and the man is just like, "Yep. You, too." This time, though, it seemed that Allie kept herself behind a wall. "Because that's sort of our rhythm, Lis. I always want more and you always want less."
I'm always in awe of how this series can seamlessly mesh laugh out loud humor, heart, realistic family dynamics, and the beautiful ride of love. One of my favorite series TO. DATE. Y'all, invest in the Harris brothers if you can ... and you will never want to come back to America again.
It's so good to be back with the Harris clan!

Allie Harris may only be a cousin to the those just mentioned but this siblings bring her into the fold and show her what family is all about. Family for Allie is different than her cousins especially living in the US and not London so moving to London was a major change.
Roan DeWalt is a dedicated football player and keeps his nose clean as he has too much riding on his career. Doing a simple favor in escorting Allie to a wedding didn’t realize how it was going to change his life.
I really enjoyed the interactions between Roan and Allie and having all the Harris family together. It was great catching up with them all and going through the struggles that Allie and Roan had going on. The author did a great job in writing that you really feel like you are a part of this group of people. I am sure it was a challenge with having four different people narrator this book and that is where my struggles come in with the rating. Not with the narrators but the editing because these four narrators did a wonderful job in bringing the characters to life. They put the emotions in their voices that the characters were feeling. You heard the laughs and worry and everything in between. What my issues are is during a conversation, say for example between Allie and Roan and Roan is talking then Allie replies, there is a pause between each character. It makes me as a listener really feel that each part was narrated separately and spliced together instead of each in the same room reading it together. Now I have listened to other books by this author with two narrators and have not noticed that so not sure if it is because of four narrators. The other issue is again with the conversations in which say Roan is speaking, then Allie, her narration is so much louder than what Roan’s is. Again it felt as it they were recording in different locations with the volume level set differently. The first few times both of these things happened it was easy to overlook but by the end of the book it really was standing out and taking away from the wonderful job that these narrators were doing with this wonderful book. So do I take stars away because of editing issues is my struggle even as I write this review because it is a 5 star written and narrated book. I am still very impressed with having this many narrators as it really made it easier to know which character was speaking adding to really being able to visualize the book. I really hope that the author finds a way to have another book in this series as I wasn’t happy to see the story come to an end.
Wonderful narration, struggles with editing

Immediately this book hooked me. From the "warm welcome" Allie received in the beginning the very awesome end. Once again Amy Daws amazed me with her wonderfully well written characters. Allie and Roan were impossible to not love. I fell in love with these two just as I have with every other character she's ever written. But that's just a testiment to how good she is. This book had me feeling so much. Humor, happiness and even moments of sadness and anger. But it was so well written and just flows so well you find it hard to put it down to do adult life things.
When the audio came out it was beyond anything I could imagine. The multicast was so fantastic. I loved all of the narrators individually so getting them together was a dream. I really hope Amy Daws has more audio like this in future. And of course I hope for more Harris family books.
My Thoughts on Payback

This novel follows Roen, one of the teammates on the Bethnal Green FC, and Allie, an American cousin of the Harris family. There are appearances of all the brothers and Vi, as well as a few characters from the London Lovers series.
I loved the dramatic twist in this story that switches stereotypical gender roles that you see in a lot of media. In this story, the woman does something without consent, and the man is angry and mortified about it. This couple has to work through some really hard issues (don't want to spoil!) and Amy doesn't gloss over it. My heart BROKE during the major climax of the story, but it broke appropriately.
Can be read as a standalone but this story is richer if you've read the previous books. Payback definitely sets up Mac and Freya's friendship for the next book, Blindsided.
Erin Mallon and Aaron Shedlock joined Will and Charlotte by voicing two new characters and they did a fantastic job!
