Story
How I wanted the start of my science doctorate program to go: 1. I'd finally study the brain. 2. I'd no longer be a puppet in my parents' cosmetics company empire. 3. I'd date and get over my ex. That was my vision. My plan. I journaled about it all summer. I vowed that for once, I'd become the heroine of my own fairytale. Those heartfelt scribblings didn't get me far, though. Rather than steer my future into bold new territory, I actually drove my hot neighbor's classic Cadillac into a cement barrier. It was an accident, but Micah didn't see it that way—and he made that clear to the cops.

Clare is having a hard end to her summer right before she starts her PhD program…getting dumped by her boyfriend (who she is not really so sad about), renting a run down house in need or repairs, and almost getting arrested for stealing and wrecking her neighbor Micah’s car. Her and Micah strike a deal and he won’t press charges. The deal pretend to be his fake girlfriend while his family is in town for two weeks, what could possible go wrong?
I just love the fake dating and single dad tropes, and this one did not disappoint. There was so much banter and funny, laugh to loud moments. I really enjoyed the growth that Clare went through to become who she wanted to be and not just follow along with what her parents planned. But, by far my favorite character was Seb, he just stole the show in every part he was in.
This is book one the in My Not So Fairytale Life series.

Rue Siebert might not have it all, but she has enough: a few friends she can always count on, the financial stability she yearned for as a kid, and a successful career as a biotech engineer at Kline, one of the most promising start-ups in the field of food science. Her world is stable, pleasant, and hard-fought. Until a hostile takeover and its offensively attractive front man threatens to bring it all crumbling down.

Rue had everything she needed, a few friends, financial stability, and a successful career as biotech engineer in food science. Until a takeover at Kline, the company she works for happens and things start to spin out of control. Eli and his friends at Harkness, private equity firm they started, want Kline. When Rue and Eli meet things start to heat up. Rue is feeling torn between her friendship and loyalty to her boss and the attraction she feels for Eli.
I enjoyed the work place romance. My favorite part was the “can I tell you a story”, how Eli and Rue just felt and knew that they could tell each other anything and feel safe with it. While this is not my favorite Ali Hazelwood book, I did enjoy it and think it was cute. Still one of my for sure author to read.

Lets take a trip back to Winterspell and the town Harvest Festival where Rosella is hoping to still have time to have a hay ride with her boyfriend Jake. While waiting for Jake to get off work she runs into the towns clairvoyant who ask for help in tracking down her stolen crystal ball. Using her unique magical talent can Rosella and her team of animal informants help find who stole the crystal ball in time.
This was a cute novella that can be read in one sitting. I enjoyed taking a trip back to Winterspell and getting a glimpse at Rosella as a high schooler and her point of view. You can really feel all the fall vibes with the festival.
I have really enjoyed this whole series and can’t wait for the next one hit audio.

Story
It's no secret that I love life. And Dr. Pepper. But also, I love a challenge. So when the coach of the Chicago Comets gives me the opportunity to help their star player, newly traded to their team, acclimate to life in Chicago, I'm all in. I have to be. After my last job went up in flames, I have something to prove. It turns out that the player, Grayson Hawke, is the rudest, most off-putting, reclusive guy I've ever met. It also turns out that he is the beautiful stranger I kissed on New Year's Eve.

Kissing a stranger on New Years…what could possibly go wrong?
Eloise loves life, Dr. Pepper and as her family calls her…sunshine.
When she gets a job with the local hockey team to help their new star player get acclimated, fall in love with the city and make his life easier, she jumps at the chance. Turns out the new player is no stranger after all. While they are total opposites, she starts to see the man he really is not what everyone thinks he is. As they get to know each other will they be able to keep things professional?
I thought this was a really cute story. My favorite character was Gray and his grumpy attitude. The banter between Gray and Eloise was hilarious. This was a grumpy vs sunshine trope and I loved it! I also loved Scarlett and her tell it like it is approach. She is just the sweetest little girl!
This is book 2 in the Holidays with Hart Romance series. I will be patiently waiting the for the last Hart sister to get her story.

Married with two kids, Katie and Brandon’s marriage is strained. Between Brandon trying to figure out work life balance and Katie battling her own struggles with sobriety, loneliness and taking care of kids. When a chance opportunity of taking over his parents’ architecture firm he jumps at the chance, catch is…it’s in Chicago.
I just can’t put into words how much I really enjoyed this story. I was hooked from the very beginning. The struggles that Katie and Brandon are so relatable that I connected with them right away.
I loved having the previous characters from the other books present in this one. The found family built through friendships was so special and sweet.
This is the third book in the Leade Park series.
I would recommend this series and her other works, Allie is becoming one of my favorite authors.

A chance meeting. A hunky hockey player. A fake romance. Hardly an ordinary day in the life of Poppy Hart. My days usually consist of agonizing over my failing restaurant, worrying about my mountain of debt, and nursing my broken heart. Everything changes when I bump into a man in the coffee shop and claim him as my new boyfriend. To my absolute horror, he turns out to be hockey's most renowned bad boy, Dallas Burke. To my absolute delight, he goes along with my story.

Poppy has been the talk of her small town since things went south with her ex, now she worries about her failing restaurant and the debt she needs to pay back. Things change when she meets hockey bad boy Dallas when she claims he is her boyfriend. What’s shocking…he agrees and goes along with the story. When his manger and grandmother get involved they see this as a win to help her restaurant and his bad boy reputation.
This was such a cute holiday rom com, that I couldn’t put down. I really loved the banter that Dallas and Poppy’s shared, but truly loved Sylvia, Dallas’s grandmother and her spunk. Some true laugh out loud moments that I truly enjoyed. The family connection and ties that both Dallas and Poppy have is so amazing and supportative.
I would totally recommend, and can’t to read about the next Hart sister.

Mavis, single mom to a spunky seven year old, working at a non profit, has enough on her plate. When she gets cornered at school drop by the PTA president, Trisha to lead the schools new DEI committee.
During the first PTA meeting Mavis attends things get very interesting and tense when the new principal announces that the school will not move forward to becoming an all gifted school. Later that night, Mavis spies Trisha dragging huge black trash bags from the school to her minivan. When the principal fails to show up to work the next day, Mavis jumps to the only plausible conclusion…Trisha did something to the principal.
This was a great story. I honestly could not stop laughing through the whole book. The conversations Mavis has with her daughter and friends is just hilarious. Pearl, is just so spunky and sassy in a respectful way. The characters are so relatable. I honestly did not expect the plot twist that happened.
If you enjoy cozy mysteries and want a laugh this story is for you. I couldn’t put it down and would totally recommend.

I really enjoyed Ali’s previous novellas and this one was just as good. This was a quick weekend rom com read. Two Can Play is about two video game designers, Viola and Jesse from competing companies who want to build a video game of their favorite book. Even though Viola and Jesse attend the same functions, personally and professionally they don’t talk because of a misunderstanding during their first meeting. The banter between these these characters is laugh out loud.
Hoping there are more novellas in this series. I would totally recommend.
