A guide to Native American history and wisdom, this set of audiobooks covers the history, culture and herbalist teachings of the NA population. The first book covers NA history - origins, culture, tribes, legends, mythology, wars & more. The second book covers herbalism - healing practices, medicinal plants, and herbs and things of that nature.

Well written and concise, this is a good start to learning about the history of the Native Americans. The narrator does a good job.

The history of the Atomic Bomb in World War II

The history of the Atomic Bomb in World War II, this book details the development and use of the atomic bomb during WWII and Robert Oppenheimer's role as its visionary leader.

The book explores the moral and scientific dilemma of deeploying such weapons, as well as the technological challenges of the Manhattan project in developing and producing the weapons, as well as a section on the Hiroshima & Nagasaki bombings, the aftermath, and the legacy of the dawn of the nuclear age into the cold war and beyond.

The narrator does a good job, and is easy to understand, altough perhaps speaking a bit to slow, making a speed-up option good. (For me a 1.3x speed is perfect).

Learn Spanish in 30 Days for Adult Beginners: 3 Audiobooks in 1 Audiobook By ExploreToWin cover art

A good introduction to Spanish, this set of three books, titled baby steps, stepping forward, and near the finish line, aims to give you a good basic understanding in 30 days. Each chapter is meant to be done in one day, and is about 45-60 mins long.

Each chapter is on a spesific topic: the A, B, C, numbers, weekdays, politics and so on. The instructions are in English, with frequent examples and questions in Spanish. Through many examples, excersises and usefull cultural information the course covers all the importan aspects and is never overwhelming.

The set is meant to take you from beginner to intermediate over 30 days, which I think is a little to quickly. I would recommend at least doubling that time for a less stressfull learning experience, but it certainly is doable if you are in a hurry.

The narrator is naturally a Spanish native speaker, but his English pronounciation is also good.

A different kind of true crime, this book details various incidents, criminal and medical, from the perspective of the 911 call center. Actual calls, and experiences of the real first responders are detailed as they work to save lives and keep the community safe, altough the texts are inspired by, and not nescessarily complete transcripts of the real events.

The stories are varied, about everything from medical emergencies and car chases to murders and other crimes, but also some of the lighter sides of this work.

The narrator is clear and easy to understand and listen to.

A good overview of the history of witchcraft, this book delves into the rich history of witchcraft, and the changes the practice has undergone over time and different cultures. From the traditions of ancient civilizations to modern-day practitioners, this book covers the evolution of witchcraft through history.

The book covers the roots of witchcraft, the role it has played in socities throughout the ages - the witch trials of the medieval period and the misunderstood nature of wizards and warlocks.

It also covers modern times, with the transformation into Wicca and Neo-Paganist practices, as well as covering the symbolisms and use of "magical" tools and ingredients.

The book is well presented and the narrator is clear and has a slightly husky voice well suited for the material, altough some may find the dialect a bit distracting.

A great collection of true crime stories, this collection of five books covers true crime stories from 5 different states, and is the start of a series intended to cover all the states.

Each crime is succintly presented in about 10 or so minutes, giving you the essential facts of the case, and the outcome, in a clear, consice manner without fluff. You also get the essential hostorical context for the setting of the crime. For each of the first five states there are 10 crimes presented, for California 20 crimes. A lot of these cases were unknown to me beforehand, so you do not only get the famous ones already covered extensively elsewhere.

This audiobook is narrated by the author herself, and she does a admirable job. The narration is clear and easy to follow even on a higher playback speed.
