The audio was stilted and nearly unemotional. it was hard to distinguish between characters during dialog. Finished the story because I wanted to see if the tale had any redeeming qualities. Haven't listened to a book that was so lacking and deficient. No more. Ugh.

Crater City, New Mexico, is a bustling mining town brimming with the stench of men hungry to get rich the old fashioned way - killing the competition. Dennis Conroy is the owner of the biggest saloon in town, and he needs a few good sharpshooters to help protect surveyors laying out a route for a spur rail lie before his rival Hugh Thornton beats him to it. Jo Buckhorn’s handy with a gun so he takes the job.

INTERESTING ATTEMPT
Reviewed: 07-21-23
First, I thought the storyline was a lot like some other western stories by earlier writers. Even so, it was the redeeming aspect of the sad attempt to deliver emotional emphasis with sounds. I would strongly suggest getting some college students taking cinematography/sound production to review and clean up this audio. They can start with the overbearing audio at the start of chapter one, then delete the smart phone sounds at the planning session in chapter 5.
The idea of creating an audio movie is legit but you need a better crew .

BIG AND STUBBORN
Reviewed: 07-20-23
The hero, Troy Stark, is described as a big, Hoss Cartwright, kind of dummy, yet very stubborn and has redeeming qualities. For instance he is persistent, totally convinced of doing the "right" thing, and morally rigid when it comes to protecting others. Storyline is plausible and well developed with several little twists and turns. I suspect most people will enjoy the drama and excitement of this adventure.

One man, an ambitious cavalry officer, flees the carnage and lives to tell the story - his own story, an outright lie. To free the woman, Duff touches off a fierce battle.

Story
Badger Kershaw was becoming a familiar figure on the frontier after the War between the States. Riding an Appaloosa with Lobo, his dog-wolf hybrid, often by his side, he was feared by most outlaws on the dodge on whom there was a bounty. It was not a savory profession, perhaps, but Kershaw was honest about what he did. Frontier lawmen for the most part were accustomed to dealing with Kershaw. When the fugitive was willing to surrender, Kershaw would bring in an outlaw alive, but it was not an option he encountered very often.

Story
More than two centuries after World War III poisoned the planet, the final bastion of humanity lives on massive airships circling the globe in search of a habitable area to call home. Aging and outdated, most of the ships plummeted back to Earth long ago. The only thing keeping the two surviving lifeboats in the sky are Hell Divers - men and women who risk their lives by skydiving to the surface to scavenge for parts the ships desperately need.

confusing story
Reviewed: 05-18-23
Story was strange in that engineers seemed to have limited capabilities. the idea of the Sirens seemed just too far fetched if you know much about radiation. Also, how had they found enough substance to multiply to the extent described. I like imagining things but too much to swallow, not enough substance. Also thought the ending was weak and totally uninspired. Left me feeling washed out. Why kill the super hero twice? Again, this was the nuclear bomb that killed the whole story for me
