Boring!
Reviewed: 05-30-25
I can no longer waste anymore time or money on this series waiting for it to get to the point. The storyline is rather meandering, and I often find myself wondering, “what is the point of this particular storyline”. The dialogue is childish and boring, and the relationships between the characters are awkward. This is more of a YA series compared to other LitRPG series like Primal Hunter. I will definitely not be continuing this series.

Excellent cast, engaging story.

I love this genre. It’s like listening to an old time radio program. The cast did an excellent job with the narration, and I really enjoyed the storyline. Hopefully, there will be another episode, with the same cast.

Story
On a little-known planet, Archmage Varic Vallenar casts a grand spell to empower himself with the magical abilities of his alternate selves. The ritual works too well, granting Varic not only the magic but also the memories from six lives. Including their gruesome deaths. Now, Varic has power greater than any wizard in galactic history, but he knows that won’t be enough. The enemies he faced in those alternate lives were apocalyptic in scale. Terrors of technology and magic. Nothing that he, or anyone, can defeat.

Ugh! The absolute worst LitRPG I’ve ever read, full of poorly-developed, weak characters and no real plot. How this book received such a high rating is beyond me. Needless to say, I won’t be continuing this series.

More and more ridiculous!
Reviewed: 04-09-25
This storyline is getting so outlandish that I don’t know what is going on more of the time. It seems like the author is just making things up on the fly. I understand that there are certain liberties that authors can take in books within the fantasy genre, but this series is really pushing the envelope.

The Monarchs, the most powerful sacred artists on Cradle, rule with unquestioned authority. They are mysterious and distant, and catching a glimpse of one is privilege enough for a lifetime. To meet one is to come face-to-face with a legend. Now, they have all gathered in one place, bringing their heirs and greatest students together for a competition to determine whose successor is the best in the world.

Getting Ridiculous
Reviewed: 04-05-25
At this point it’s curiosity that keeps me listening to this series. I want to know if Lyndon finally stops bowing and scraping to everyone. However, it seems like that will never happen. I’ve come this far in the series and I still don’t like or care about ANY of the characters. And the fights? Utterly ridiculous.

Too much “singing”!!!
Reviewed: 04-01-25
Hammiche’s character deserved a better story than this. The storyline felt rushed, with a ton of songs and poems to make up for the fact that there was no real substance. Also, if you give one of your characters a name as silly as Lenora Dove, it’s not a good idea to use it in every sentence. It sounds too ridiculous. Perhaps a better narrator could have made the story more enjoyable, but not by much. Overall, I’m very disappointed.

I like that the book focused more on Jake, with just a brief mention of the other members of the Nevermore group, I also liked the interactions between the gods. Would have liked to hear a bit more from Miranda, though. Overall, I loved the storyline, and cannot wait for Book 12.

Disappointing
Reviewed: 01-26-25
The storyline was pretty weak. It felt rushed and not very well thought out. I waited so long for this book, only to be totally disappointed. There were so many questions that were left unanswered. I’m assuming that, based on the ending, there will be another book in the future. Hopefully, it will be more like the previous books. Also, please go back to having Travis Baldree narrate for all of the characters.
