Story
What if you died, only to wake up in a new body, in a world where magic is real and battles are fought like in a video game? That's what happens to James Thompson, who finds himself reincarnated as Talon Nightstrider, a young man with a destiny to become a powerful member of the Blackfang Guild. But Talon is not just any member; he is connected to the System, an advanced interface that displays his stats and powers, and allows him to level up like in an RPG.

Highly Simplistic
Reviewed: 12-17-23
I tried to like this book, the narration was excellent and the concept interesting. However, the writing was simplistic and lacked depth. Would have been better marketed as a book meant for pre-teens. I made it to chapter 10 but couldn’t go any farther. Not the worst I have heard but just difficult to listen to.

Story
This is the story about how I died. Not really.... I mean, I don't remember most of it, thank goodness. Long story short, I was betrayed. Some people I thought I could trust invaded my sky palace, stole my women, and enslaved my pet shadow hounds. I was destroyed, utterly. Or so they thought. Somehow, mana, the source of my previous power, brought me back. The backstabbing weasels think they are safe, barricaded in their strongholds. Here's the horrible part. They willingly sacrificed their own flesh and blood for security. And they had the nerve to call me evil?

A bit lacking
Reviewed: 12-05-22
The story was okay at best and I did not feel this story was that well thought out. The characters were shallow and undeveloped, and the writer tries to get by with sex appeal and bravado. Honestly, it just lacked that ability to hook you and I found myself a bit bored overall.

It is a strange world, one filled with a myriad of mysteries that shrouded its true history. It is a place where many races once thrived, only to eventually dwindle away from the records of time, locked in an eternal struggle against a strange but powerful kind. Our journey continues, as all the Chosen of the Chosen Battle Royale, and all of the major influential parties, along with the rogue practitioners had been transported to this world, or rather, to this ancient battlefield. It is here, their destinies will come to fruition; it is here, they will become renowned.

Please don’t say something changed again.
Reviewed: 11-04-21
I read the first two books and was excited to see the third, however I hope the author reads this. I enjoyed the story but there were a few big issues that just took away from enjoying it fully.
First, Please god use some other form of explanation for a transition other than saying something changed constantly. I swear it took up half the sentences in the book (exaggeration but needed).
Second, the spoken sound effects are not needed and not done well. Just describe them like, he chucked, or he laughed, instead of ggg or kkk, it’s like nails on a chalkboard. Finally, pleassssse for the love of god, focus on your actual main character for at least the majority of the book. Some back story is needed sometimes, but this book spends so much time following other random insignificant characters that the story barely progresses at all. I feel cheated of the great story I was expecting, and instead it’s a book of background filler. Very disappointing.
Well take that as you will. I hope there is a book four and that the story actually moves forward in that one.

Story
As a particle physicist, William Jenkins is as unsuited to survival on an alien world as any normal 30-something post-doc could be. Thankfully, he’s not alone. With an AI, magic, scientific curiosity, and, most improbably, a deity on his side, Will must come to terms with his new reality before otherworldly terrors forever extinguish the light of hope on this new world.

Story
All of the stories you've heard are wrong. They always tell you that starting a new life in a fantasy world is an amazing experience, full of magic, adventure, and true love...but they never tell you what happens when it's over. They don't tell you that it just happens again. And again. By the time you start your third new life in a row, all of that initial amazement wears off. That's where Lux finds himself now: dropped into yet another fantasy world, forced to restart his life all over again. He wants nothing more than to disappear...but it seems the world has other plans for him.

Spoilers No story or character development at all. Absolutely nothing happens in the whole story except training and then in their first and only encounter they lose, and The End. Horrible. Its like someone wrote the first quarter of their book and said I’m gonna publish it. Not worth the credit.

Good story and build up without the excessive attention to harem elements that can ruin a story. Could use some more details in some places, like a bit more of attention to the main characters ability development, but still an enjoyable read. Looking forward to further development in the next book.

Story
Stephen walked into the office which Barnabas was using as his judge's chamber. While the massive amount of data Bethany Anne's team was throwing at him was more than enough to assuage his curiosity, he had never felt this way in the last 152 years. He wanted a vacation. He pulled the top manila-folder and took a look at the name, "Clarissa Bernier, CEO". He opened the folder, and it was now in the agreed upon fashion.

Disappointing
Reviewed: 10-05-20
I have read all of the Bethany Anne Novels up until this point. But I found this one very disappointing. Other than a few scenes we barely see the main character, with the majority of time being spent with others. Also, I could have done without the whole chapters worth of content discussing how they were going to pair up the men and women. I mean a few sentences is alright but they spent multiple chapters on it. Missing was the descriptive badassary that I have come to expect from Michael Anderle.

What story are you trying to tell
Reviewed: 09-21-20
I tried, I really did, but it's like the author could not decide on what story to tell. As soon as things started to get a bit interesting he jumped off on a tangent back story. Background was important but there was no flow and I was left wondering who was actually the main character. Could not even finish, had two hours left and gave up.
