I liked this better than part 1. Still very repetitive but the story was fun and enjoyable. It's really a little crazy and out there but lots of fun. Very good narration.

has high moments and low ones for me
Reviewed: 03-22-25
I'll start with the good. I think the emotional journey that Jake went on was incredible. we get to really see him begin to heal. It really hit all the right notes. The things that happened with casey's family broke my heart and made me cry and was so well written. I didn't see that coming and I was truly devastated.
The not so good... Casey. Her character drive me bonkers in this book. Gone was the sweet down to earth goof ball thai charmed me in Cake book 1. Instead we have a bride who may not be bridezilla full blown but still kind of annoying and so insecure. And then when she is going thru her sad moments, the forced baby making and slight blackmailing was not cute. Unfortunately her character was a big turn off for me most of the book.
The narration was good. And I'll keep going in the series because I want more from the other characters in this world. But I struggled with this one.

This was my first time reading this type of MM book and I'll say I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I was intrigued and invested with the overall story and the narration was mostly very good.
I did find it to be a bit repetitive, but also vague. We get told the same vague bits of how the group of adventurers got together many times. I'm not sure if this is recaps of previous books or not, but that's kind of how it felt.
I will definitely be continuing on to Part 2.

I didn’t know bridesmaid was code for babysitter for the bride’s brother, but if that’s what my best friend needs of me for her dream wedding to go off without a hitch, that’s what I’ll do. Even if Theo Monroe has been a pain in my rear since third grade. Even if he should be responsible enough to not wreak havoc at his sister’s destination wedding.

This was underwhelming. Not as funny as I'm used to from this author. Very repetitive inner monologs and dialogue. I know we are supposed to like the sister/best friend, but she's just horrible and really selfish. Our two main characters literally bend over backwards to make her happy and she keeps acting like Theo is the problem. She just made me mad the entire book.
One giant plus in this book was Kit Swann. Her performance was spectacular. Listening to her do a drunky character was the only time I really laughed in this whole book.

The longing and yearning was so off the charts good in this book. I really loved the chemistry between the 2 main characters. I do think they made a mountain out of a mole hill in this book. I don't quite see why it was such a big deal for them to be together since they didn't grow up together, but it didn't bother me enough to not enjoy the overall story. The ending left me a little unsatisfied because I wanted to see how people took the news. But I had fun listening to this audiobook. Callie Dalton and Teddy Hamilton did a wonderful job.

If you look past a few grammatical errors and recording errors (specifically, one chapter restarts the recording midway thru), this is a cute omegaverse story.
I feel like maybe they tried to do a little bit too much, and it dragged on for longer than it needed to. But the characters were good. I enjoyed their different dynamics with the omega. and it definitely leaves you wondering what's gonna happen to a certain side character. overall, the narration was really good, but that accent work was a little cringy.

Rue Siebert might not have it all, but she has enough: a few friends she can always count on, the financial stability she yearned for as a kid, and a successful career as a biotech engineer at Kline, one of the most promising start-ups in the field of food science. Her world is stable, pleasant, and hard-fought. Until a hostile takeover and its offensively attractive front man threatens to bring it all crumbling down.

This one grew on me. Rue is charming with her bluntness and social awkwardness. Eli was on a mission. A revenge mission. And Rue was an obstacle he wasn't expecting.
The writing in this was fantastic. I was intrigued and invested from the beginning. The characters were memorable and unique. It was funny, steamy and had so much emotion. I really loved this story. And both Callie Dalton and Jason Clarke were the perfect casting for the audiobook.

I didn't expect the hot stranger who helped me face my ex to end up being an NHL player and be interested in me. I really didn't expect his two teammates to also be interested in me. These men look at me like I'm everything they've ever dreamed of. Now I have all three men wanting my attention. And I want them all. Unfortunately, it might not be that simple. When it comes down to it, the hot nights, whispered words, and strong emotions might not be enough. I just hope that at the end of it all it will have been worth it.
