Story
The Splinter came, and the world ended. Ryne Miller woke up five hundred years later. Now, all alone and with no one he knew left alive, he chances across humans among the concrete wilderness. And these aren't people like him. No, these are stone-age like tribespeople - three women whose tribe has been slaughtered by a Great Beast.

I like it simply because Everytime I hear Dodeka I think about star wars lol. not the best review but I think it s funny in my own way. it really has been a good story so far in its own way. Although fair warning to some people, it's not narrated in the male character voice. it's narrated in female voice with the male character being male supporting voice. it's a little bit different but still good in my opinion. give it an hour or two and you can get used to it to enjoy it.

Story
Infinite Worlds is the most popular VRMMORPG on the market. Its maps are so vast, developer Hard Rock Data utilizes a network of highly advanced artificial intelligences to control it. But it’s not without problems. That’s why Game Masters like Jeff Driscoll have jobs. The downside? He’s not allowed to play the game. Something about conflicts of interest and favoritism. His very boring and tedious job is to help players deal with the occasional bug that slips through the cracks and ensure they enjoy their time playing enough to give a five-star rating.

I do very much like the story, but it's a sort of peev to me when a book goes from one PoV to another constantly within a story. I can understand a couple short sections for a point of view. But I just can't stick to a story that changes the PoV every chapter.
However if that doesn't bother you than this would be a great story to read.
Nick really does well in the narration. The unique perspective of the GM not actually being a player is pretty cool. Even if it's only for 1/3 of the book or so.

Reborn in the wild world of Amaranth, Maulkin finds himself in a hulking demi-human body with a sword of a size to match. Marked as an Eternal, a fledging immortal of boundless potential, Maulkin soon discovers he's been given a mission by the elder pantheon of this new realm.

Such an awesome pairing with Chmilenko and Daniels. Loved every bit of the story so far. Chmilenko's natural telling of events along with the banter between characters just brings out a nice flow throughout the narration. Bring in Daniels with his sheer mass armory of voices and tonal inflections to bring the characters to life. Like Daniels just has a way with voice acting that allows you to easily connect with the characters. You have here what could be the best story you've ever listened to. And as a nice bonus the story itself has a good twist on the usual Reincarnation and Litrpg standards.

Story
Reidon Ward will become a god. He doesn't know it yet, of course. Reidon was born weak, sickly, and small. Afflicted with a painful disease and abandoned by his parents because of it, he has had to fight tooth and nail for every minor advantage life has allowed him. However, his perseverance has not gone unnoticed, and when the most powerful artificial intelligence in human history takes an interest in him, things began to change quickly.

A GREAT book with unique take on sci-fi fantasy.

Between O'Connor, Chmilienko, and Daniels. This book has the best making I've read in a while. 3 great artists. One very great book that is a little outside the norm.
The gamelit aspects are a different spectrum from the normal leveling.
The fantasy tech suits are a nice highlight for the story.
And lastly the story itself has a good bit of uniqueness that doesn't deprive the story of any action drama or mystery.
I highly recommend this to anyone who likes sci-fi fantasy, but don't expect much magic in the normal sense though. I feel that the magic like portions of the story will ramp up more in the second book.

sci-fi sprinkled with fantasy and I love it
Reviewed: 03-01-21
honestly this book was a good refreshment after tons of titles between the likes of sci-fi and fantasy with litrpg mixed in.
This book seems to be like the Popeye secret recipe in that regard. although the magic side of things is kinda comic like.
that's the only way to put it without spoilers but if your a comic fan you'll understand soon anyway.
Scott aiello is one of my favorite narrators simply because of the relaxed way of speaking and conveying emotion. This also relates very well to the authors' humor and characters.
I would recommend this to anyone. and I DEFINITELY mean anyone. Unless your a drama junkie or s@x addict...
anyway that's my opinion and I hope that you'll give the book a try.

Those who survive the spire's trials return home with an attunement: a mark granting the bearer magical powers. According to legend, those few who reach the top of the tower will be granted a boon by the spire's goddess. He never returned. Now it's Corin's turn. He's headed to the top floor, on a mission to meet the goddess.

Very good depth for blended detail and story.

First off keep in mind detail and free time while listening is key with this book.
I've seen reviews complaining about the beginning of this book but if you don't pay attention to the small details you may get slightly lost in some minor points in this book. That said here are my thoughts;
The author likes to detail in short spurts that can be easily be missed, and he tends to have many compact scenarios, scenes, as well as descriptions that can be easily missed if your multi tasking. I would suggest listening to this book when you have free time and can really put into imagination what the author meant you too see and hear.
Lots of smart problem solving and mystery throughout the book. I really loved it even though I did have to do some rewinds to catch little details I missed.
**Also as a helpful bit but also a small *spoiler* for the beginning. Keep in mind he was trained in a different class of very basic magic than what he goes to school for, allot of people seem to be confused about how he doesn't seem to know any magic when he arrives to school.
