great until unclear ending
Reviewed: 06-14-25
great twist great story. however she really should pick one ending and stick with it or make the ending more clear adding her not being hit but still hearing the beep made me wonder wtf. plus she said she saw his dead body she k new he was dead then she turns around and said she never saw his body, was that on purpose or an editing mistake?

Story
It’s a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she’s actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn’t here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she’s dreamed of coming for years—she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she’s here without him, at rock bottom, and determined to have one last decadent splurge on herself.

Entertaining but the story line was kinda ripped off Batman and 50 shades. Especially Bentleys parents that’s straight up Batman. I enjoyed the second one Aiden more

I was not a fan of her last two but I have read or listened to them all, I had a good feeling and so glad I got the audio , disappointed I listened to it in one go! Lots of twists and an ending that was happy. Especially the few twists that I really enjoyed. Can’t wait for the next book since I’m relieved that I loved it!

Story
TJ Devlin is the charming disappointment in the prominent Devlin family, all of whom are lawyers at their highly successful firm—except him. After a stint in prison and rehab for alcoholism, TJ can’t get hired anywhere except at the firm, in a make-work job with the title of investigator. But one night, TJ’s world turns upside down after his older brother John confesses that he murdered one of their clients, an accountant he’d confronted with proof of embezzlement. It seems impossible coming from John, the firstborn son and Most Valuable Devlin.

Thank you thank you thank you for pinning an addict in a positive light. It was so refreshing to see an addicts story even if fictional told in a way that frames honesty and compassion. Addiction is a disease and it’s about time this country realizes that these are human beings. We have a doctor in the family who is an addict, and the suicide rate among physicians is outrageous because not many hospitals give second chances meaning no room for relapse along with a high stress job. Seeing tj go on to do good was refreshing. So thank you for your research, and beautiful story.

Story
It's been over a decade since Nora left her hometown of Scupper Island, Maine, and very seldom looked back. She's carved out a successful life in Boston, where no one knows her as the awkward girl with the delinquent sister and the dad who left, but a not-as-dramatic-as-it-sounds brush with death has her taking stock of her life. Inspired to reconnect with her prickly mother and snarky teenage niece, Nora returns home for the summer, where she's forced to face the people she's spent the last ten years trying to avoid.

The ending boooo
Reviewed: 10-29-24
POSSIBLE SLIGHT SPOILER Great narration but I predicted Bradley’s character from the beginning so I was disappointed with the ending which I will not give away but I would have preferred the story all the way up to drinking the whiskey, I know a woman doesn’t need a man but why make NO one love her. Kinda cynical right? What was the point of making her unloved by all INCLUDING her sister. That part of the story could gave been left out especially since she says she kills her but she’s also married? Doesn’t go… the narrator did an amazing job though!
