I wasn't impressed with this story. I didn't have a problem with the male narrator at all, in fact because of my issues with the story, I looked forward to his parts because it was less boring. Mercy's parts were overfilled with endlessly boring descriptions of architecture, history and landscape. It was like I was reading a tour guide half the time. The story redeemed itself near the three quarters mark. I love this series but this one fell short for me.

This is one of those books that I probably should have read instead of listened to. I hate to bash narrators but she was one of the worst I've heard. Her voice for Dody was like nails on a chalkboard. I got it free as a prime book which was good because if I had paid a credit I would have asked for a refund. The story bordered on torturous. The lead gal was completely unlikeable and I sort of wished Des would have run for the hills, but of course he was pretty boring too. This was my first and last from this author and narrator.

Good 2nd book and I'm really looking forward to more. Im enjoying how unique the story line of the series is. My only problem was with the narrators' loud and heavy breath intakes. It almost made me stop listening towards the end of the book.

The narrator really made this book come to life. Its a nice story that you can just sit back and enjoy. I love that Nora Roberts writes her dialogue without using a bunch of "he saids" and "she saids" that really become annoying when listening to a book.
I will definitely look for more books by this narrator. She did a great job with all of her characters and her timing and flow were perfect in a story like this.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

For sure. It had a great plot and a hot romance.

What did you like best about this story?

It was a good thriller, had good action yet still maintained a great romance. Perfect balance and what I look for in a romantic suspense novel.

What does Tim Gerard Reynolds bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I really enjoyed his narration overall. His female voices were probably the weakest point in his performance but still didn't ruin it for me. I loved his voice for Trevor.

Any additional comments?

Don't hesitate to get this one. It appears to be the start of a great series and I can't wait for the next ones to be available on Audible.
