About this listen

In the New York Times best-selling Mercy Thompson novels, the coyote shapeshifter has found her voice in the werewolf pack. But when Mercy's bond with the pack - and her mate - is broken, she'll learn what it truly means to be alone....

Attacked and abducted in her home territory, Mercy finds herself in the clutches of the most powerful vampire in the world, taken as a weapon to use against alpha werewolf Adam and the ruler of the Tri-Cities vampires. In coyote form Mercy escapes - only to find herself without money, without clothing, and alone in the heart of Europe.

Unable to contact Adam and the rest of the pack, Mercy has allies to find and enemies to fight, and she needs to figure out which is which. Ancient powers stir, and Mercy must be her agile best to avoid causing a war between vampires and werewolves, and between werewolves and werewolves. And in the heart of the ancient city of Prague, old ghosts rise....

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Physical book would be better..

Any additional comments?

I love the story and I love Lorelei King's performance. I gave the performance 3 stars because She was not the only narrator for this book. It is one of my biggest pet peeves when I am listening to a series and I can imagine the characters with specific voices and then all of a sudden they change or add a new narrating voice. Lorelei king has spoiled me with her amazing performances time and time again with my love for this series which is why I was a bit disappointed when they added a male narrator to the mix for this book. He does not capture the personalities of the characters like she does and makes it a bit difficult to listen to. I really hope for the rest of the series they only have Lorelei King.

So not a fan of the dual narrative !

Any additional comments?

Just started chapter two and I cringed !!! Darryl sounds meek compared to the voice Lorelei King gave him... Adam, Warren, Ben.... just isn't the same... very distracting !

Narration ruined it for me

What did you like best about Silence Fallen? What did you like least?

I relistened to all the books when a new one comes out and now you add a narrator for no reason. Now i have to buy the book because the audio version is totally ruined for me. I will be returning the audio version.

What other book might you compare Silence Fallen to and why?

None

What three words best describe Lorelei King’s voice?

You should be noting that GEORGE ..is also narrating the book.

She does it again!

Every time you think you have a story line figured you, you find you are wrong, again! Love being surprised! I will read her stories as long as she keeps writing them. Thanks, PB

Oh Merci!!!!!!!

I love this book. I was happy it had Stefan in it. I Love the friendship between him and Merci. i was disappointed that there was no interaction between the two except the time with link he has with Merci. This is just my personal quirk. Other than that, this was a great story. Just loved the two POV. The narrators were fantastic. Keep up the good work Patricia. Can't wait till the next adventure. Still would love to see more of Stefan. I would love to see a spin off with the vampires.

Why the change up In narrators?

First couple of chapters were hard to enjoy because of being distracted by the addition of the male voice. Daryl DOES NOT sound like that and Ben most certainly doesn't either. Very nearly stopped listening after I heard those takes on the characters. I wonder at the decision to make such a change at this point in an established series and while I have nothing against the ability of the male narrator, I hope this is a "one of" change rather than a permanent one.

Mercy, Mercy, Mercy....

Never a dull moment in the life of Mercy Thompson! As a coyote shape shifter chaos follows Mercy all the way to Prague. Adam takes an unlikely band of individuals to find and save Mercy only to get caught up in vampire subterfuge, and political diplomacy. Old acquaintances connect, ghosts come out of the woodwork and stone. Witches , werewolves and goblins...oh my! Or is it, oh Mercy? Patricia Briggs weaves and delivers another fantastic story, and this story would not be complete without the voice of Lorelei King.

Why did you add a male narrator?

The new male voice was not good and they should have stuck with what has worked for the last 9 books
