Story
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Story
Archaeologist Dr. Socorro “Corrie” Mejía has a bone to pick. Literally. It’s been Corrie’s life goal to lead an expedition deep into the Mexican jungle in search of the long-lost remains of her ancestor, Chimalli, an ancient warrior of the Aztec empire. But when she is invited to join an all-expenses-paid dig to do just that, Corrie is sure it’s too good to be true...and she’s right. As the world-renowned expert on Chimalli, by rights Corrie should be leading the expedition, not sharing the glory with her disgustingly handsome nemesis.

Ok I’ve been introduced to different types of relationships and I love it! The stories were everything! HEA’s during the holidays are my jams. Didn’t always vibe with the narrator but overall it was such a great listen by some of my favorite authors.

Some reviews complained about redacted moments. Which is true, not sure why they couldn't replace those details. But honestly in a book this long. It was just a blip.
Main thing that stood out to me was how slow the 1st few hours were. And side stories that felt like they had no meaning.
BUT! It all came togehter well and I had that Aww hahhh moment.
If you enjoy the main character you will enjoy this. Although anything related to certain countries seem overdrawn now a days. Same Middle east and one country in particular all the time.
Overall: Great listen. Narrator is one of my favorites it seems. Makes me not want to read it on paper. Ready for Book 3.

Story
Am I friends with JP Cane? Ha! That's laughable. Besides the fact that he’s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movie When Harry Met Sally that says men and women can't be friends and work together, it’s safe to say we're not friends. He's annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons...multiple times a day. So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we're sharing the same air, 24-7. We're talking full-fledged working roommates.

Co-workers to enemies, then friends, to lovers & sprinkle in the millionaire this book hits all my favorite tropes. I enjoyed how the author showed the vulnerability of each of the main characters even though they are total rockstars in their profession I wish there were a few more scenes of what happened between the breakup but overall really enjoyed the book.
