Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

slow but worth it
Reviewed: 11-28-17
it was a struggle at the beginning lots of information lots of questions created all at once that took the entire book to answer but in the end I'm looking forward to the next book you literally know everything about the characters and they do exactly what you'd expect them to do by the end of the book which is a good thing in that the author built to character and helps you to understand the character for who they are and then make sure that the character is doing what you expect them to do based on that knowledge.

Story
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

as a long time enjoyer of the Gilmore Girls and a supremely excited person about finally getting to see the ending this is the behind-the-scenes commentary that we all buy DVDs for but in this case you have to buy an audiobook in order to get it to truly feel like it should

For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. The author is very good at creating a set of protagonists with realistic humanity. Affected by their experiences and making mistakes despite being the hero we seek.

Story
Verily, the story Biff has to tell is a miraculous one, filled with remarkable journeys, magic, healings, kung fu, corpse reanimations, demons, and hot babes. Even the considerable wiles and devotion of the Savior's pal may not be enough to divert Joshua from his tragic destiny. But there's no one who loves Josh more (except maybe "Maggie," Mary of Magdalan) and Biff isn't about to let his extraordinary pal suffer and ascend without a fight.
