My husband and I spent our 25th anniversary in Ireland and fell in love with it. We met people very much like the ones in the story and ended up returning annually. Ireland just welcomes you with its beauty, the warmth of its people and the wonder of its history. The story is very real and the narrator does a wonderful job performing all the characters.

Story
William Waters grew up in a house silenced by tragedy, where his parents could hardly bear to look at him, much less love him—so when he meets the spirited and ambitious Julia Padavano in his freshman year of college, it’s as if the world has lit up around him. With Julia comes her family, as she and her three sisters are inseparable: Sylvie, the family’s dreamer, is happiest with her nose in a book; Cecelia is a free-spirited artist; and Emeline patiently takes care of them all.

Liked the story and its narration. A little difficult for me to get through because of the way the chapters are set up, alternating between characters and dates. Still enjoyed it.

Once you start you don't want to stop. The characters are well written and mesmerizing. Narration is excellent. Storyline is bleak because you know that in today's world, it is real. But you keep hoping for the happy ending, because goodness conquers evil, and our hero is definitely good.

My most entertaining book this summer. Both hero and heroine believable and with an unusual plot for a romance . I loved all the characters and really enjoyed the narrators, too! I will immediately look up more books by Jennifer Bardsley. Audible Bookies out there ... need a lift? Listen to Sweet Bliss!!!

It's a place where everyone has known her all her life, where no one will let her forget the past. In bright, bustling London, she can be anonymous, ambitious...and hopelessly in love with her boss. But when fate brings Flora back to the island, she's suddenly swept once more into life with her brothers - all strapping, loud, and seemingly incapable of basic housework - and her father.

NICE RELAXING STORY

Very much enjoyed this tale of a talented woman who returns to the home she felt she had to leave. Kind of brings to mind the old adage "There's no place like home." The story got my interest and held my attention. Really liked all of the characters and felt they were we!l presented by the narrator who gave a wonderful performance. Read a lot of Jenny Colgan for escapism. Her books are always optimistic and and hopeful, restores some good feeling about the human race... Thanks for another good one, Jenny!!

GREAT RELAXING STORY FOR SUMMER ENJOYMENT!

Really liked the characters and the viewpoints of the different generations. In my opinion, Eleanor was too generous to her daughter Alicia, who comes across as one entitled lady!! Storyline well set up and nice ending. As always, Tanya and Whitney's character interpretations are spot-on. After listening to lots of murder thrillers, this was a pleasantly relaxing tale to enjoy!

ENJOYABLE STORY, LOVE THE NARRATOR

If you're into tense, murder mysteries, this isn't your type of book. I've tired of the gruesome murder thrillers, and now that I've stumbled upon Sheila Connolly, I've been spending pleasant hours listening to her stories. Her characters feel like old friends when you get into a series. The tales are interesting enough to keep you listening. I felt enjoyed Amy Rubinate's performance. As a person who has greatly enjoyed several visits to Ireland, I love listening to her sweet comfortable interpretation of the many characters in this story with her delightful brogue. She has a soothing voice that is wonderful to listen to! I will continue to purchase Sheila's books and hope she continues to write them!
