Story
Over two decades ago, forty-eight young, gifted superheroes fell to Earth and were eventually marketed as opposing brands: heroes and villains. Now, one exceptionally gruff bad guy is looking to hop teams. Hello, PR director Vanessa Theriot. His real name is Roland Casteel a.k.a. the Pyro. First, swap that with the less incinerating the Wyvern. Next, put him in spandex to highlight that near-godlike body. Finally, give that hero in training a heroine—if Vanessa will play the part in a pretend romance guaranteed to make the city swoon. She’s game.

now I remember why I stopped listening to this podcast. because basically they equate if you're a serial killer well guess what he's a republican. it's this hateful rhetoric that needs to stop. and these two bitter women who draws parallels between the Republican party particular social agendas and Ted Bundy being a serial killer. those should all go hand in hand and you should be able to guess that that's what he is politically. it's disgusting it's insulting. these women are awful people

I know this is supposed to be at classic. it seems pointless. I think if you want it to try to assign some deep meaning to it you probably could. but I don't actually know that the author had any eat me. I finished it out of respect for what it's supposed to be but I will never listen to it again

He sets up his magic mechanics in part 1. it is unique and interesting. he immediately throws it out in part 2 for one that is so ubiquitous that it is totally uninteresting. tried several times to get through part 2 of book 1 and just stopped caring when the overwhelmed human became master at everything he tried and the magic system was boring.

Translation For the Win
Reviewed: 02-04-24
while it is a very prototypical LitRPG book. one of the really fun things about it is the translation from Russian (I assume). it takes what would be a rather mundane book that litters a genre to something that is truly special. the over formality of the translation makes it delightful. now that obviously is a personal opinion and I completely understand if it is off-putting but I found it quirky and hilarious. I found the entire series funny and I hope he eventually publishes the fifth book. what a fun amazing is the editing because I would have laughed the entire time performing the voice acting. don't take away from that it is a good story. please listen to this book it'll bring joy to your life

A natural storyteller and raconteur in his own right - just listen to Paddle Your Own Canoe and Gumption - actor, comedian, carpenter, and all-around manly man Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) brings his distinctive baritone and a fine-tuned comic versatility to Twain's writing. In a knockout performance, he doesn't so much as read Twain's words as he does rejoice in them, delighting in the hijinks of Tom - whom he lovingly refers to as a "great scam artist" and "true American hero".

Probably My least favorite JP novel
Reviewed: 09-04-23
I love Joe Pickett novels. I even like this one but it is probably my least favorite. while I like the character of Nick romanowski I don't like stories that Center on him this much. it's getting a little bit hard to believe this outlaw falconer is a thing kind of storyline. and I just like the Joe and Mary Beth and game warden dynamic. getting all tied up in the FBI and international espionage is a bit much. I still like this book but too much Nick and not enough Joe

I was rooting against the main character. he was obstinate and horrible to his friends and family.
