I'm really not enjoying the narrator. Her voice is boring me. I think I'll buy the next book as a hard copy

So sluggishly slow!
Reviewed: 09-27-21
This book could easily have been 10 hrs if the author had cut all the incessant, sluggish, uninteresting blather. It became so obnoxious that I forwarded through most of the book... And missed nothing!
There was only a hand full of action and the last 1/2hr was really the only interesting part. Simon was such a frigging weenie! I could care less what happened to him.
If you like long drawn out talk and over the top details...this books for you

Story
Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.

Story
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes.

I Really Hated This Book
Reviewed: 11-04-16
I didn't want to waste my credit so I forwarded through most of it, just to get the jist. I think Ray Chase really ruined it for me. He is in my top 10 worst narrators. If I see a book with his name I'll bypass it no matter how good the book claims to be.
When guns are blazing over people's heads he plays them like they are ready to lay down for a nap, all whispery. When they should be read quite he shouts. The character Ness for instance, I thought for a couple of chapters was 10 yrs old.
