About this listen

Matthew is the first human wizard to possess the true heritage of the Illeniels, a secret gift no one fully understands. Alone, he travels to another world, seeking the source of their mysterious enemies. There he will discover the origin of their ancient foe, the mysteries of the past, and possibly the future of humankind.

If he can survive long enough.

In a land beyond death and suffering, he finds the true source of evil, within the heart of humanity, and their newest creation. In the search for knowledge, some doors, once opened, can never be closed.

Over all my least favorite book of M.G.Manning

As all the other books in this series were based on more medieval theme this one ventures to a distant hi-tech future. As always with Manning the story is not bad , but it didn't really feel as part of the Mageborn Universe. If you are reading through the entire series of books i would not skip this as it still has some important pieces of story, but also make sure you don't start with this book either, as it will not give you a real feel for the series.

put some effort into this so do give it a glance..

Love this author, never ceases to satisfy my craving for a good story.
this one melded the tasty medieval world of mordecai's family with a world such as ours, well closer anyways. it's really interesting to see the story develop. Matthew from Ilenial and his blossoming friendship (or is it love?) with Karen from a future version of "Earth" where everyone is uploaded into the net, few with actual physical bodies of flesh. I'm excited for more from "Matthew" as he grows to his adulthood. I am interested to hear how these changes occur, making him the force of reckoning surely he must hold the potential to be.

Hate that the series has ended.

T he competition of Demonhome just left me wanting for more. I hope the author has some thoughts of writing some follow ups. Will miss the characters.

Better Than The Last One

Like the last book I found this a tough one to start. But unlike the last one, I found it much easier to finish. The multidimensional aspect is less obtrusive now that is more explained, and I'm a huge fan of the new character Karen. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of fantasy or especially Sci-Fi. Once again, Manning does a fantastic job of describing his world without sounding like an infodump. I was also left wanting more. Can't wait for Mordecai to reach audiobook format.
