Story
In this irresistibly imagined belowstairs answer to Pride and Prejudice, the servants take center stage. Sarah, the orphaned housemaid, spends her days scrubbing the laundry, polishing the floors, and emptying the chamber pots for the Bennet household. But there is just as much romance, heartbreak, and intrigue downstairs at Longbourn as there is upstairs. When a mysterious new footman arrives, the orderly realm of the servants’ hall threatens to be completely, perhaps irrevocably, upended.

I really like this it was so different and unique. I’m a major Jane Austen fan, so some of it was kind of weird to hear, but so intriguing I could not stop. The writing was very good and I loved hearing a backstory that I never imagined happened how unique I can’t wait to read all of the rest of Jo
Baker’s books now.

I am really touched by his desire to give, give, give, until they ask! He overdelivers and teaches us the Pat to do it too! This is a MUST HAVE on your shelf and if you value it like I do, it will be filled with sticky notes and dog eared pages!

Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

I have to say this was one of the best things I have listened to in a long time. Hearing Prince Harry read this in his own words was intimate and raw. I am happy he and Meghan and the children were able to withdraw from the toxic experiences they went through. Well done Harry.

This is the most powerful book I have read in my 33 years of teaching. What is written about in this book, I have lived as an educator. It is so important for you to read for yourself! The science of reading and the nature of testing is something I have been so passionate about. This book hit the nail on the head and brought to the forefront the things that everyone is afraid to say, but those things MUST BE SAID!
