The Helldivers series is quite honestly a miracle. It is consistently amazing all the way from book 1 to book 12. And what an ending!!!! This is one of the most satisfying endings to a book series I've ever read. Thank you Nicholas Sansbury Smith for creating this absolute masterpiece and I can't wait to see what else you do in this awesome universe!

I found the plot really engaging and like the main character. He was the most likeable main character of the 3 books. Plus there were no racial slurs in this one, which is always a positvie.

I really enjoyed the overall story but felt that the book was slightly bloated. If it had been more condensed and concise with the story than I feel like I would have enjoyed it a lot more but as it is there were some parts that kind of lulled and were a bit boring. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the book, it was still a really good time. Just wish it had been a few hours shorter.

Story
At first, it looks like a disease. An epidemic that spreads through no known means, driving its victims mad with memories of a life they never lived. But the force that’s sweeping the world is no pathogen. It’s just the first shock wave, unleashed by a stunning discovery - and what’s in jeopardy is not our minds but the very fabric of time itself. In New York City, Detective Barry Sutton is closing in on the truth - and in a remote laboratory, neuroscientist Helena Smith is unaware that she alone holds the key to this mystery...and the tools for fighting back.

but the last quarter of the book seemed to just never end. The story kind of started falling apart. Also the forced romance subplot felt very unnatural. The relationship wasn't built up at all, it just suddenly happened. Overall it was still a good listen.

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

This book is so incredibly amazing! Andy Weir is one of those authors that never fails to fully captivate me with his writing. The characters he creates always feel like family by the end of the book, and Project Hail Mary is no different. Grace and Rocky's relationship is my favorite from any book I've read. Honestly this book rivals The Martian for me. Anyone that enjoys pure sci-fi will love this book. I cannot stress this enough... BUY THIS BOOK!!! And all of Weir's other books because they're amazing too!

Story
In this deeply scary and intensely unnerving debut novel, Jake and a woman known only as "The Girlfriend" are on a drive to visit his parents at their secluded farm. But when Jake leaves "The Girlfriend" stranded at an abandoned high school, what follows is a twisted unraveling of the darkest unease, an exploration into psychological frailty, and an ending as suspenseful as The Usual Suspects and as haunting as Misery.

I saw the movie before listening to the book and I loved both! Plus the narration is top notch. I really felt a sense of dread along with the protagonist. And then that INCREDIBLE transition towards the end! (If you've already listened you'll know the one I mean). I think this book is a great insight into how loneliness effects a person and it's definitely a read I would recommend to anyone.
