A fun take on a fantasy coming of age story. The characters are well fleshed out and the writing is paced very well. I highly recommend this book.

Story
Hannah has a routine. Wake up, take a shower, go to school, go to work, come home, and pass out. It's a perfectly normal routine for a perfectly normal girl who does not have to remember how her limbs work every morning because of haunting nightmares of being a very different creature in a very different world. That's all she thinks they are—nightmares—until one night, they're all too lucid, and her body on Earth starts to change. Slowly, Hannah's humanity starts to slip away... but surely she can continue just sticking to the routine, right? It'll be fine. It has to be.

A very cool premise but I find that monster transformation and interdimensional horror keeps taking a back seat to covid protocols and angtsy complaints against the Christian church. Social issues weren't what I signed up for when I downloaded the title "Bioshifter"

Story
I used to be the greatest Earth Mage in my world. The head of the entire Order of Architects. But the older you get, the more you come to realize that at some point, you need to retire, so that you can have the chance to enjoy a peaceful life and to cede your place to the young, some of whom have already turned two thousand years old . . .So that's what I did. But I failed to account for one thing: during the course of my long life, I'd accumulated too many enemies, and they had decided to spoil my retirement. So they died along with me. And I hope their deaths were final. But mine was not!

I've read and liked Oleg Sapphire in the past, but this book is pretty tough to sit and listen to. The MC is a complete narcissist and doesn't make any meaningful connections to other characters. It's a constant stream of how much better he and his order was before he died and how little those around him matter. A brief disclaimer, I have only made it to chapter 7 at the time of this review but I am making this post now because I'm sure I'm only a stones throw away from quitting on it

the main character seems to have narcissistic personality disorder and borderline is a sociopath and while this could have been strangely fascinating in a true crimes kind of way it just comes off greasy and annoying.

Story
Felix had risked everything to stop the threat of the Unending Maw. Except instead of death, he and his Companion Pit were transported to the deadly Void, a place far worse than the Foglands. The Maw is there with them, bonded somehow to Felix in a way none of them understand, but all of them hate. The three must navigate the desolate expanse of the dark Void, contending with voidbeasts, marauders, and the creeping influence of the Maw itself. It will take everything that Felix has—and more—merely to survive, let alone escape. All choices have consequences.

Honestly, skip this one. I don't think I've given up on the whole series but it was a close call. For those taking my "skip it" recommendation the synapsis is: Felix is trapped in the void and is chased by pirates then he happens to find a temple that has a barley functioning portal out of the void....that's it. that's the book.

I read fantasy serial series often, and off the top of my head, I can't think of a single entry that destroyed my interest for the rest of the whole harder than this book. it reads as a horni teenager gushing over three elves... and if it was done better I would tolerate it for the sake of the rest of the series. there is NO emotional build up to whatever this was infact the MC almost seems to pick one of the three at random with the expectation of "I'm gonna get with one of you, so, I guess you'll do lava guy" 0/10 story

Story
Try as he might, Fischer still can't catch a break. Tropica's forces have just perpetrated the fantasyland equivalent of crashing the king's party, kicking over the punch bowl, and making a series of rude gestures on their way out. Unfortunately, they're about to learn firsthand that when you take a bully down to the mat, it's best to make sure they don't get back up. Because their enemies are unearthing long-forgotten powers, and if those dabbling in the resulting destructive chi succeed, they could become even more annoying than the time Corporal Claws hid all of Fischer's pants.

"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Story
My master created me for his entertainment, leading adventurers to ruin. Betraying them at the last moment, just when their glorious victory was on hand. I have been found again by the newest member of a quartet of dungeon crawlers. Poor fool. This time will be no different. Or does it have to be? Maybe I don't need to spend eternity left in a deep, dark dungeon waiting to devour would-be heroes. Maybe, just maybe, I can take him over and use this new identity to leave and masquerade as an adventurer myself.
