About this listen

Where others see doom, he sees opportunity. Hell Difficulty? More like a chance to thrive.

Nathaniel's bus ride was supposed to be just another boring commute. Wrong. Now, he, 23 fellow passengers, and a corgi named Biscuit, are stuck in a "Hell Difficulty" Tutorial, battling monsters and leveling up to survive.

Easy difficulty, anyone can handle. Normal difficulty, you've got to put up a fight to get by. Hard difficulty is where only the tough ones last. And Hell? That's where you have to be a bit out of your mind!

With his terrifying talent for mana manipulation, Nathaniel decides to invest every stat point into mana. Attribute imbalance be damned. It will either kill him before the monsters and his enemies can, or turn him into one of the most powerful beings within the system.

Never underestimate the guy who has so much Mana it should kill him...

Follow Nathaniel's crazy journey as he takes on nightmarish foes and teams up with a far-from-normal group of bus passengers in this action-packed LitRPG Adventure. He must outsmart the odds, survive, and emerge stronger than anyone else!

The MC is more pragmatic and less idealistic than most MCs in this genre ...but almost too much, like intentionally written to have a borderline psychosis that comes across really well. Like he's an unpredictable character, which makes him interesting.
I liked a lot of choices made by the author, he definitely had some original ideas. I especially like the direction he went with mana manipulation abilities ...very cool stuff.
That said the story felt a little thin. I think outside of the MC's progression there is not much story to sink ur teeth into.
The narrator did a good job, but whether it was his style or just the source material there were times when he got a little monotone.
Regardless, I enjoyed the book and I think I'll check out book 2 whenever that comes out.
It's well worth the credit ;)

This is a great 1st book!!!

toooooooooooooooo many choices for everything. just pick 3 or 4 and move on dude, it just gets boring when you compare ten darn skills or classes.

a realistic hero and a dog

I already read this book when it came out, I just wanted to post an audible review as well
if you like characters who do grow, just not how you would expect, this is the story for you. the main character is intelligent cocky sometimes it does bite him in the butt. overall I'd give this story a 10 out of 10 performances and what I had in my head when I was reading it but find me a book that does that, I love the story.

such a good book

I liked it. I’d put it in the same category as primal hunter and HWFWM. MC is a severe introvert and can really hold a grudge. He’s also a min maxer dumping stats in mana and the story does progress through this dungeon like tutorial. It says hell difficulty but for the MC it’s more of a stroll compared to the other characters.

Good listen

A basic litrpg but good enough to make me want to continue to the next book.

MC getting screwed over a lot but overcoming things

First half of the book the MC is very unlikeable from a human perspective. He is a solid MC though
Second half of the book he doesn’t soften but is more in control of his self I would say. Really pleased I picked this one up

It’s a fantastic start

The story was a bit generic, but still entertaining. Reader did a good job in this.

The MC and a bus full of people head to another world in the opening paragraph. Soon, they face a wolf. Later, some goblins.

With the title, I expected something more extreme. But this is a fairly pedestrian Gamelit story. Although the fights tend to run long, there's rarely a sense of true danger in them, especially once higher levels of regeneration get started.

Still, it's well written and the characters are okay. It's sort of like LOST with a bus of random people. All the decisions necessary are easy. The narrator does a good job. Nothing bad, but nothing stood out for me as great, either. Good enough to finish.

Actually, Easy Level Tutorial

I like how they group pulls together when they need to, even when they are using eachother to stay alive. I don't like the use of GD. I can't get behind that terminology. It's not necessary and detracts from the story.

pretty good story line
