Story
Some call him friend or boss. Some call him husband or dad. Some call him son, even a favorite son. But the only title that matters to him is the one the media has given him: the Poet. A name he earned from the written words he leaves behind after he kills that are as dark and mysterious as the reason he chooses his victims. One word, two, three, a story in a poem, a secret that only Detective Samantha Jazz can solve. Because, he’s writing this story for her.

Amazing!!

My husband has been tentatively diagnosed with CTE. Multiple mild traumatic brain injuries over the years from high school football, horse shoeing injuries (kicked in head), 3 motor vehicle accidents, fall times 2 with head strike and a boat wench malfunction strike to head with 3 days loss of conciousness. It is a sad thing to watch. Losing the confident and intelligent man I once knew. We are lucky enough to have a slower progression than Jeff but it still is a horrible loss on so many levels.

Story
In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: They become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place.... The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease.

I really enjoyed the book. Captivating. The only let down in the entire book was the ending. I like happily ever after type endings. This one left me a bit wanting and frustrated.
