Story
Felix Dennis is an expert at proving people wrong. Starting as a college dropout with no family money, he created a publishing empire, founded Maxim magazine, made himself one of the richest people in the UK, and had a blast in the process. How to Get Rich is different from any other book on the subject because Dennis isn't selling snake oil, investment tips, or motivational claptrap. He merely wants to help people embrace entrepreneurship, and to share lessons he learned the hard way.

Story
Imagine there was an evil alien society that had this bizarre interest in hunting humans for leisure. Now, imagine they prepared a full guide to teach their own kind how we think, socialize, and most of all, how to spot our weaknesses. Finally, imagine that you got your hands on a copy of one of those guides. Wouldn’t you want to read it to understand if there really is a threat? If there was, wouldn’t you want to learn what the aliens know about us to better prepare to defend yourself and those you love?

This book is amazing. It explains complex ideas in simple and humors ways. Should be taught in every high school.
This book is better then titles like Influence, The art of thinking rationally, The black swan, predictably irrational, etc.
Anyone that enjoys articles from The Farnam street blog, or speeches by Munger will probably enjoy this book.

Gleacher’s book puts today’s culture of hype, tricks, and life hacks to shame with its simple, timeless formula: Be yourself, tell the truth, lead by example, do your best, own your mistakes, work hard, take risks, earn your success, and pay it forward.

I really wanted to listen to this book, but the author is a terrible narrator, after listening for 10 minutes I want to throw my phone out the window. I will return this audiobook and buy the print version instead. (Too bad, because I usually like listening to books that are read by the author.)

Story
Between what can be learned from evolutionary psychology and cognitive science a picture emerges. In Sex, Murder, and the Meaning of Life, social psychologist Douglas Kenrick fuses these two fields to create a coherent story of human nature. In his analysis, many ingrained, apparently irrational behaviors—one-night stands, prejudice, conspicuous consumption, even art and religious devotion—are quite explicable and (when desired) avoidable.
