AI written
Reviewed: 04-21-25
Like many of the reviews for this story, it also seems to have been written by an AI. From the repetitive word choices to the near fanatical avoidance of conjunctions and stilted odd misuse of pronouns everything screams “machine made”
It’s a shame because if any effort were put into the editing of the story rather than just using whatever means is at hand to churn out more content it could potentially be a 4 or 5 star story.

MC is whiniest self pitying most immature character ever
Reviewed: 04-01-25
Maybe it because the reader still keeps using the same voice for 12, 15, and 18 year old Wesson, but it really would t matter because the character goes through exactly zero personal growth in all those years. Even after using his “destructive power”(which when naming something is one of the biggest creative copouts ever) tho help and save people all he ever does is cry and whine about it and moan about how unfair it is. The story is intriguing and moderately entertaining (something can be entertaining without being destined to become a modern classic or even great literature) but the MC’s insane level of whining makes you hope the assassins after him wi succeed just to make the complaints stop.
Edit: The above was written about 80% through.
So it’s not until the last chapter that the MC actually undergoes any kind of personal growth or development. It’s a toss up whether most listeners could get that far, but there you go.

Overall an entertaining story, but definitely not cyberpunk. Dystopian litrpg cultivation but no technology in the entire story. More of a futuristic swords and sorcery.

Story
"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Wtf? So tired of fake Audible reviews
Reviewed: 02-21-25
The people who leave all 5 stars here must have never actually read a well written story. The main characters in this story are just awful and NEVER get any better. They never learn, never adapt, are shallow, vapid, whiney, and morose. ALL the main characters are like this. Really incomprehensible… one of the MC starts having fits calling herself murderer after killing a nest of flesh eating non-sapient hunting stalking giant spiders. And the self pity just goes on and on with zero character growth. 20 something hours in and I’m giving up because I hate both MCs so much despite the interesting world and engaging secondary characters the author is building. The MCs are just that shallow, one dimensional, vapid, delusional, and shitty.

Story
A part of me wants to run away again. The memory of my death still haunts my dreams. But this is my home now. And I'll be damned if I give it up without a fight. I mean, all I have to do is learn how to navigate xianxia politics and train for battle while simultaneously running my farm and uncovering an ancient cataclysm that apparently destroyed the Azure Hills back in the day. Meanwhile, I'm about to be a father . . . Man, I'm kinda screwed, aren't I? At least I can call in the cavalry—ahem, poultry—to help.

Story
In this collection of lectures that Richard Feynman originally gave in 1963, unpublished during his lifetime, the Nobel Prize-winning physicist discusses several of the ultimate questions of science. What is the nature of the tension between science and religious faith? Why does uncertainty play such a crucial role in the scientific imagination? Is this really a scientific age?

After being betrayed by the very kingdom he saved, Jacob Stone forsook his title of Hero. Now he lives the simple life of a barkeep. Yet even that life is irrevocably erased when a young woman named Enyo appears before him. She claims to be the daughter of the former Dark Lord and has come seeking his aid. He’d normally never consider lending her a hand, but when she tells him that she knows of a way for him to return home, he’s left with little recourse.

Extremely derivative story. Fair to good reading.

I really don’t understand these amazing reviews others gave. The story is a blatant mishmash of other Anime stories. If you fed Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero, Reincarnated as a Sword, and a list of cliches and anime “tropes” into an AI and told it to generate a composite story this is what you would get. It’s not that it’s completely horrible to listen to, just utterly predictable, tedious, and awkward. The scenes are even directly drawn from other anime stories, from the overdone cliche of huddling together to keep warm to sucking poison out of a wound, or the female lead fighting and killing time while the MC recovers enough to swoop in and save the day. Except the scenes were much better in the original stories they came from. It’s okay to listen to this if you are really really bored and don’t have anything else you haven’t heard yet, but it’s not something you should make the time to listen to.

Story
On a typical day, on an average train platform, two warring sister goddesses found their avatars. One avatar, the young Yoshi, was swept away to the world of Ephemera to be a great hero of honor, courage, and light. The other, the not-so-young Seiji, was swept away to become a dark lord out to kill or conquer all in his path. But Seiji is in absolutely no mood for that nonsense. It's bad enough that on Earth he was a closed-off, misanthropic grouch with zero patience for other people. Now he's supposed to muster enough of a give-a-damn to lead vile hordes?

Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. As Jin, I’m a man of the earth. A wielder of shovels and lord of rice and wheat. And sure, I also had to die and get pulled into another universe to end up here. But guess what? I’m starting to think it was worth it. I’ve somehow managed to get away from it all.

Story
Well, this year, after the Spring Planting season, I’m really gonna relax and put down roots. It’s the slow life for me. Sure, the talking animals and cultivators coming to live with me are a bit weird, but this year everything is gonna be basically normal. There definitely won’t be any Heavenly Tribulations, ancient formations, or cultivator issues to deal with . . .
