Even Joe was in the dark until the very end! This was another well-written and well-thought story... or should I say stories? Everything comes together and wraps up nicely.

Story
Still reeling from a personal tragedy, investigative journalist Rooker Lindström finds a grim hideaway from the world. It’s the dilapidated cabin on Minnesota’s Deer Lake bequeathed to him by his late father—one of the most notorious serial killers in the state. If the walls of this murder house could talk, they’d scream. Detective Tess Harlow needs something from Rooker only he can provide: a window into the mind of a murderer. A copycat is on the prowl, following in the footsteps of Rooker’s father.

Even in his short stories, CJ Box captures my attention. I especially liked that Mr. Box gave an introduction to this story.
I would like to get in touch with this author and connect him with a guide who visits the Bob Marshall Wilderness in Montana. I think it would be a great idea for a Cassie Dewell novel.

It took me a while to realize that this Audible selection went back and forth in time. I wish the narrator had described that in the beginning. It would have been easier for me to follow. I had to look online for a description of the book.
Once I realized the way the story was written, I enjoyed it. The narrator was very good.
